I like your jar meter idea - I might start that.

No heating on for the last few days, but there's definitely more of a nip in the air tonight, so it may be on later. I've just checked the wall thermometer, and the pointer is approaching the blue area. When it gets there, that's my signal to switch on.

Meanwhile......I'm off upstairs to put on my fleecy body warmer!

  • I've cracked here in North Wilts!

Tried for a while with the electric fire on one bar but when I left the living room, all the other rooms were quite nippy... electric fire off, heating ticking along at 21 for the next few hours.
Doesn't mean that I'll put it on again tomorrow though! Shall have to wait & see what the next few days bring weather wise...

It's on. It's lovely and warm AND we have hot water for the first time in nearly two weeks.

We had the central heating on for 2 hrs last Saturday night and 2 hrs again on Tuesday night. So far that's all we have needed.

Ours is still off. Not by choice though. On Wednesday it was two degrees warmer outside than in, so I opened all the doors.
  • I put mine on for an hour this morning just to take the chill off and so my bathroom gets warm for my shower. But in the evening I still have my thick blanket over my knees and an extra jumper on.I will even pop on a woolly hat at times (keeps the heat in :):):):))
