Here in Wiltshire it has been wet dull and cold,it's made me feel down in the dumps. The heating went on for a hour this afternoon,we decided the bedrooms were feeling a bit damp.

The LR has maintained 20c with tea lights burning, hoping to keep off as much as possible now so we can afford to switch on when it's really cold.
  • Still OFF for now, it's always tempting during the first cold snap to turn it on and sit about in warmer weather cloths.

Last night went to bed in two upper layers, fingerless gloves (Not keen on cold hands when I'm reading in bed), one set of nice thermal winter slacks and fluffy bed socks. Nice and cosy :D

It's not cold enough for adding a jumper/hat yet or a hot water bottle, I'm saving that for if/when it's get really cold.
At least when it does snow it seems to get warmer than when it's just the howling northern wind phase, but then I'm stuck indoors until it's thaws lol

    SOUTH COAST
Say 5c, plenty of wind chill though.
  • Really envy the flat dwellers who don't have to use much heating, are your flats new build ones? And what is the sound insulation like

Ugh we are detached. Which I love, really :D and very well insulated here. GCH on! Chilly tonight and kids have got thermals under their pjs. DD(3) feels the cold more than DS and for the last few nights she has come looking for me to get warmed up :) she's always good for a cuddle lately! She only wants me cos I'm cosy...

Off and I've only just closed the back doors.

I'm prepared for the fight this year. Onesie, balaclava, gloves, thermals, hat... although probably be cheaper to put the heating on

Still off here...Felt cold this afternoon, but I have storage heaters. So im hanging it out. Im in and out a lot and find that when I do put them on theres no point in switching them on and off all the time. Once on they stay on until next spring. I only use one in my lounge. Theres only me and I stay at my boyfriends every so often. My washings still drying by leaving it outside during the day (under cover) and using a dehumidifier at night on E7 to fully dry it. Im at the moment just showered, had my tea and got my pjs and hot water bottle on and im roasting now without any heating on. Ive Just come back from a friends house which has Gas Central Heating and I was roasting (I was wearing a tshirt and jumper, which is what I wear here). It felt good when I walked back to my car, as I felt I couldn't breathe. Maybe im just used to cooler air now. Like ive said theres only me and im in and out and not here for one or maybe two days aweek every so often. If I had others to consider, it would be a different story. I hate being cold and if I felt colder I would definitely put the heater on. I use an electric blanket to warm my bed half an hour before I get in it and have the window on the latch and no heating in the bedroom either.

On tonight as I'm just back from Malta where it was beautifully warm. Once I'm re-acclimatised I'll turn it off or at most to minimum times again.
Feeling very cosy with one table lamp on and two candles burning, winceyette jimmies and 2.3 tog ski socks on.
Got my heating allowance notification today but it won't tempt me to go ott since the fuel has gone up so much.
