Thanks KC - I will
Hi YummyMom :hello:
Hope you're doing ok? The weight looks to be falling off - well done :T Yes I think you're right. We do set ourselves unrealistically high standards - whether we have kids or not.
We all have to remind ourselves that every day we are doing the best we can - life really is a marathon not a sprint!
Talking of which, I agree that our perceptions of crime and being attacked are skewed. I too am sensible, I run on well lit main roads, tell Dh where I'm going (then generally go a different way) , make sure I have high-viz clothing so I can be seen and usually take my phone. There is too much scare-mongering these days, when the chances of anything bad happening are as they were 20/30 years ago, I reckon....
On the police website, Anti-social behaviour is most prevalent round here and that can be drunks or kids hanging around. I don't know if I'd pay much attention to that. I prefer to trust my instincts and just keep my eyes and ears open.
Anyway, a day at home for me as it turns out Little DD has tonsilitis. My GP said to keep her off until at least Monday - to which she punched both arms in the air and said "YESSSS!!!!"
My Mum's in Liverpool visiting my auntie for the day and DH is up against it with deadlines, so it's been left to me to wait on her hand and foot. She skipped all the way to the Doctor's and asked for a lolly in the chemist. Then came home and I got her a blanket and snuggled her on the sofa, she soon started barking her orders - demanding cheese on toast please...."NOW!" Delightful.
Think it's gonna be another long day.......0 -

methinks you might need this :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Its kind of hard to think "oh poor thing" when she's ordering you about like that, I suppose :rotfl: but after the first flush, I suspect she'll be feeling really poorly again - take your pleasure while you can!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Tried to reply a few times, but keep crashing  Hope there's a bit left in the bottle! chink chink ladies!
Picked up DD1 straight from school - a treat for her as she's always at After School Club except for Fridays. As soon as we arrived home, their little friend from next door called.
I explained that the little one was ill and she said she was too and had been off all day!
What do you do? So they are all round playing next door - I give in!0 -
at least you're getting peace whilst they are next door...lol...hope she gets better soon.0

Thanks Taxi, she's fine apart from a bad cough. The Doctor said he was surprised she had not been more ill. I said she's always complaining about feeling sick - I just ignore her!

Don't they just make absolute fools of you? It's hard though to be sympathetic when she's ruling the roost! Oh she doesn't rule the Roost Gill! She's tried hard and nearly broke me - but I'll never surrender!
Anyway, I'm glad that I took her this morning. She *is* ok in herself, but the cough sounds very tight and choking, so her throat must be really sore. To be fair to her, she hasn't really complained about it and has been coping quite well. However, she is not at all happy that she's missing the school disco tomorrow night and said she IS going. She's not but we'll have that little battle tomorrow
Now to ring Mum to see if she'll watch her tomorrow....0 -
Good Morning
A restless night as DD1 was in with us from 1am. Her ezcema has flared up again, possibly because Dad bathed her and forgot to put on her cream, so her skin totally dried out and she scratched all night.... Little DD is much better and begging to go to tonight's school disco - we'll see.
Sadly, I didn't get a place in the GNRso I'll try and get a place with one of the charities. My sister works for Mind, plus I ran for Kidney Research last year, so might be in with a shout there.
This morning, I'm getting my hair cut and roots done :j I've switched to a cheaper stylist, as my style is not complicated and I'd rather it be as :money: as poss.
So good old Mum is coming to look after little DD for me this morning. I'm going to try and get some new hand weights in TKMax as my arms the the one area I'm neglecting in my fitness mission.
Foodwise was a bit of a disaster yesterday, 2 hot cross buns - with butter and a kitkat:o:o But I'm back on the horse today with porridge, blueberries and half a banana :A
Have a good day if you're reading0
