Macgirl's "I Can Do Anything....If I Put My Mind to it" Diary

Hello!
Since starting my last diary "Stop Procrastinating and Get on With it" lots has happened.
The main thing is realising a dream of moving to a larger house more suited to family life – we moved in last week and it already feels like home:j
But I have also realised that I only procrastinate about paying off debts (and losing weight – but more of that later), as the wise Gilligansyle pointed out on my last diary – I do actually get things done. I definitely am a do-er and I’ve realised
I can do anything - if I put my mind to it.
Turning 40 a few weeks ago, running my first Half Marathon just over a week ago – The Great North Run - and moving into this dream house have reminded me of that fact – that I can make things happen.
This moment really does feel like a new beginning – so it calls for a new and improved diary.
I started reading Memorygirl’s diary, by chance, the day Mr Big first contacted her and have been very inspired by MG herself and Mr B, but with the move I haven’t had time to focus on the challenges – until now….
So, the plan is to put my mind to my debts first and foremost and start making headway there and also pledge to lose a stone before Christmas. I’m also going to upcycle some furniture and find cost-cutting and creative ways to furnish my new home.
I love this site and all the lovely people I’ve “met”, so all old friends and any new ones are most welcome to come along for the ride and kick my butt when needs be!
(Oh and if there are any PADders lurking – as soon as I get any decent amounts to PAD – I promise I’ll be back!

Thanks you two :A:A
Yes KM the girls love it. They were a bit tearful the night before we moved, saying they were sad to leave. The next day, I picked them up from school after we'd moved and said we'd go and say goodbye to the old house - they both said "NOoooo, new house, new house!" and never looked back!!!
Right off to bed. Tomorrow I have to go and clean the other house as we have our first tenant moving in on Saturday. Yes, I'm now a Landlady. My friend asked if I'm going to go round in a negligee and curlers from now on :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Good going there Macgirl, glad the girls have settled. Here's to a bright new futureBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -

Hello Taxi, DT, Chev, BoB and Buffy :hello: thanks for popping in!
Just writing my "To Do" list and sorting the finances (I've binned my sig for now, I'll sort that out later)
Today I have to pay £20 to a man who stripped a pine door for me. It was quicker and easier than the few coats of paint it would need (for the other house).
I also need to pay Memorygirl as she insisted she send the book before I got paid, nice lady that she is.
After that - no spends. I have 2 cheques to pay in - to our joint account sadly = £341. This is good as DH was awake half the night worrying about money.
I also must ring Lloyds, they are chasing me to speak to them (gulp) Thankfully I was paid and received my payrise (around an extra £120 per month :T) so that will help greatly towards shifting the debts.
Right, off to shower, gather my cleaning gubbins and rally the troops - that is after I have porridge made with water and a splash of milk :A
Day 1 of diet starts here
Have a good day and Happy October0 -
