Well, at least you remembered about the insurance in time! The rain hasn't arrived here yet, but I am sure it will do before too long. The forecast is then for it to be set in for the next couple of days. Nice!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. I had the rain yesterday....
did you and OH have a little talk about what to do *afer* he's made an offer of taking part in the work on the house?
I know what you mean about focussing on the debt - as you may have seen on my diary, I rabbit about all sorts of *other* things, but sometimes its incredibly helpful, like with the line dancing this Friday just gone. Other times, I wish I hadn't....
And I just bet your little DD *is* adorable right now, bright and lively and gorgeous2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Really enjoying your diary. Well done on getting your dream house, I hope you will all be very happy there. We also rent out a house we so it through an agent and ours is becoming vacant at the end of this month. What happens everytime is he calls us up and we end up doing lots of decorating! Not looking forward to that. Also know about awkward children have a couple of teenagers my daughter can be very hard work. All would be fine if we had a money tree! :rotfl:Have subscribed, Take care.2025 Decluttering 13021⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Morning Mac
Hope your little one is better today, friend of mine had a baby before me and kept saying 'wait till the sleepness nights etc.' but they never happened for me. Mine slept through from the beginning, while hers was a constant battle. In the end she gave up, not really the right answer but it made for a quieter life. Morning all
and welcome Mrs Money Penny, thanks for your nice comments. I look forward to your input about rental houses and everything else!
My sister has just called and brought some curtains for the living room window. They are tab top, but at least they are nice and neutral, so I might head out to buy some curtain tape and adjust them and put them up tonight. The girls and DH just want to stay at home today, so I might even get chance to head out on my own! :j:j:j:j:j0 -
Hi Mac
Yeah, its lashing down here as well and shows no sign of stopping. Today should be my 2nd NSD of October, with any luck!!!
Well i have made a huuuge lasagne for tea (the rest i'll freeze). Really craving comfort food at the moment, obviously due to the damp miserable weather.
Ive subscribed to your diary and good luck with your new home. Ive been in my first home for 4 years now, and its taken a bit of time to scrape the money together to start decorating it to my taste. I just try to take each day as it comes.
More NSD's and less spending ones!0 -
Hi Mac,
glad you like the house. As to the insurance thing - we do everything like that and getting more organised is a priority for us (including some reasonable division of labour).
Today, Little Boy's rugby match was cancelled - it could have been a polo game actually. We all got soaked to the bone. Nice day for sitting infront of the fire with a nice book and a blanket around the legs.

Trying to be be MSE, so no fire (yet) but the blanket is on!
I'm desperate to redecorate and Dh says I can buy paint but nothing else. The problem is, there is textured wallpaper everywhere and experience had taught me that if I remove it, half the wall will come away with it! So we've put up some of our pictures and mirrors today and it feels a bit more homely.
No header tape in town - I really should have gone to John Lewis but it's a fair trek and I didn't want to venture far today. So I'll try and nip out tomorrow lunchtime.
I've also found some cream lineny fabric and curtain lining, so I can either make my sister's curtains full length or make a plain pair for one of the girls rooms! :money:
They'd both prefer Cath Kidston floral ones, but they will do until we can afford other ones. I might even be able to dye them pink.
Just need to get my sewing machines up and running. I've got 2 industrial ones, 1 flatbed and 1 overlocker as well as a domestic one, but all need cleaning, as they were in our cellar. I honestly can't be bothered today. I'll mooch around here for a bit, then make an apple crumble for after tea using apples from the tree in our garden. Yum!0
