Good evening, hope everyone is well!
I've had a good day for a Monday.
Since starting my healthy eating plan on the 1st, I've lost 1.5lb :j so that started the day nicely. Blues skies on the way to work - then a nice traffic jam, so I was late for work but decided not to let it worry me today.
Nothing too taxing at work, brought lunch, so virtually no spends. I felt really happy and was looking forward to coming back home. The girls have made friends with the kids next door and are round there now. I was at school with my neighbour and although we didn't know each other, she is good friends with a close friend of mine, so there is already a feeling of trust so we can relax.
All feels well in my World. It's normally at times like this when I expect something to go wrong, but this time I refuse to let negativity creep in.
This time - it's all going to be alright0 -
How lovely, macgirl! When you can really feel deep down that you've made the right move, thats a wonderful feeling2023: the year I get to buy a car0
-
Thanks KC - I'm going to head over to your diary this evening, so will catch up with your move and all your news
The day before we moved I lost my debit card for our joint account. I got paid the day after we moved, so once my salary had gone in, I used that for various household expenses (and they were *quite* a few)
I paid a cheque into my account from our joint account last week, but it still hasn't cleared and now I've had 3 DD's returned  Arggghhhh!!!
All because I was busy moving and took my eye off the ball - will I EVER get it together??? :wall:
Well, it is what it is and I have to get over it. This evening's job is car insurance. I've been trawling websites all lunchtime, but the cheapest quote is still £100 more expensive than last year's. I haven't had any claims and we've only moved a few streets away - plus the car used to be kept on the street - now it's on a drive.....0 -
Do you have online banking for both accounts? Just wondered as a transfer might have been quicker than the cheque. Obviously too late for this time but for the future? Do you check your accounts every day hypnoesque style? Thats the safest way to keep your eye on the ball.
Good luck with the insurance is takes ages doesn't it!0 -
Yes, I could have done that but we didn't have the broadband connected at the time and to be honest I didn't think.....
Checking the accounts "hypno-style", well I still have to master that one. It's just not very exciting is it?!Must be more disciplined.
Talking of which, we're trying another approach with the girl's regarding discipline. I woke up this morning and pledged not to shout at them ever again!
Wonder how long that will last :rotfl:
Little DD has been a joy yesterday and today, but now her usually very well behaved sister is acting like Kevin the Teenager! (aged 6)
*sigh - reaches for wine but remembers self-imposed mid-week ban*

:rotfl: at Kevin the teenager - my mum called me that for years and then I was re-christened Kevin at work as well (aged 24
) I'm not moody - honest! (I prefer to be called sensitive :rotfl:)
Glad the new house is going well. :jSuccess is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Yes, it will all be ok, and you will be on top of all things financial and otherwise before you know it xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Arrgghh! Banging my head against a brick wall trying to get car insurance. It runs out at 11pm, so I need to sort it pronto.
I've been searching for the last couple of days and have found the cheapest quote following the rules set out by our leader. When I go to pay - they've added on another £50  WHY?!@?!
I made sure I unchecked all the frippery boxes containing add-ons I don't need - so why the hidden costs??? So beeped off with it, but have no option or I'll be driving without insurance tomorrow and don't fancy that.
On the plus side, I will get £1.50 from Quidco to soften the blow - every cloud:mad:
