Nope not your chemo brain - just my brain working as normal0

My brain dribbled out the wrong way too, reading this
sorry macgirl - but I do get what you mean now. And there's absolute power corrupting absolutely, as well.
What a pain about your mobile! As you say, its recoverable, but still, that takes some effort
I love that whole behavioural idea of praising the good behaviour and ignoring bad. I don't think it works quite 100% of the time, but a good 80% or so, which is wonderful in itself. And it leaves a really positive, lasting impression.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hiya KC :hello:
It does grieve me that people can abuse their *power* (even that word is cringey in the workplace). I have worked for enough bad managers, who really only want to boss people about and feel superior - it really makes me baulk. When it goes a step further it's even worse. This friend is from a priviledged background and if I'm honest I think the boss is jealous, so has to pull rank to feel superior!!! So juvenile, but I guess that's life.....
Just watched the repeat of Piers Morgan meets Alan Sugar (I missed The Apprentice Gill). Piers suggested "Suralan" would be a good counsellor to which Alan Sugar snorted. He said "Yeah I'd say, Get over it, you stupid s*d" :rotfl: I do love a straight talker!
Night, night xx0 -
Good morning. It is pitch black here - groan - I'm definitely a Summer person.
Anyway, lots to do today. I have someone coming over to quote for shutters for the living room window. I say *quote* because it's something we'd like but will have to save for, so I want an idea of cost.
Then a friend I haven't seen for ages is coming for lunch - so need to rustle something up and it will be great to see her.
I have to ring up for a new SIM and charge up the spare phone, go to the supermarket, laundry, general housework blah blah.
Tomorrow I'm going for a run as I haven't been since the GNR and moving.
Bank accounts checked and all in order, so a low spend day is plan of the day. I need to try and do a bit of paper sorting too, as we have quite a pile and I really want to keep on top of it in this house.
Hope you have a good one0 -
Morning,
its only just started to go light here too. I don't like dark mornings.
Glad you were around to sort your colleague out. When I was going through a bad phase in previous job, it was nice just to get a kind word, even from colleagues I didn't generally come into contact with. Although you do feel an idiot - blubbing away in the car park.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Good morning
Feeling a bit worse for wear as we were out last night. Only at a quiz in aid of the school and it was a cheap night. Then our friends came back to see the new house and we opened a bottle of champers that I got for my birthday. So no running again - I must go tomorrow to get back into it
Today is the usual round of ballet and swimming lessons, then we're off to get little DD a wardrobe from Ikea. DH is picking up a dresser from my Mum and Dad's that we've stored there for years due to lack of space. I'm going to "upcycle" it. Paint it to give it the French (and expensive) shabby chic look.
I'd also like to cut the grass as it's knee height! And perhaps do some weeding and tidying - nothing too taxing.
Off to check the accounts - have a good day all x0 -
Good luck with the 'upcycle' - I am still very impressed with my bargain dresser. Especially good if you have older stuff that is proper wood rather than particleboard stuff. Will last longer too.

Yes, it's dining room furniture that my MiL gave us. It's not really to my taste but it is nice. I was looking at modern oak tables and Eiffel chairs, but
a) we can't afford them and
b) the furniture is good wood and it would be criminal to throw it out.
So I flicked through the Laura Ashley catalogue and saw this. Our table is oval and bigger, but this is the kind of look I'm going for. It'll be a messy job as the legs are very detailed and the whole job will take a long time, but I think it'll be worth it to breathe new life into it. And save cash :j :money:
I just hyperventilated finding that link, as they've got 30% off a sofa I've been coveting:o:o I MUST think about the mortgage. Think I might need to tootle over to the mortgage calculator.
Out repayments are high, luckily repayment - not IO which is something. *If* I get a bonus, then I'll use some to make an overpayment, the rest towards debt, the other bit towards my sofa and plantation shutters and DD1's new bed and and and and (yeah - don't think I'll be get that much :rotfl:)0
