Fingers crossed for a mahooosive bonus then, mac!!

Have a good weekend - the house sounds as though it is all coming together, and all the upcycling etc will be well worth the effort, I am sure!

My *new* house (when I get it, which I will, of course!) is brand new, so I will be going for the clean lines modern look, with a classic edge to it. I know what I want, in my head, so the challenge will be to transform it from my vision in my mind into real stuff that doesn't cost much to create! Bring it on :T

I'm sure that by the time you get your new house and are debt free - you can have everything you want and need.

If you put your mind to it ;)

it's so nice seeing people upcycling stuff and must be a massive sense of achievement when the project is finished

YOur table is oval and bigger, but this is the kind of look I'm going for. It'll be a messy job as the legs are very detailed and the whole job will take a long time, but I think it'll be worth it to breathe new life into it. And save cash :j

Thats the same sort of design as mine! Round with a fiddly pedestal. As you say, not to my taste, and now needs some fixing, but for us it is far too big and swamps the room.

Yes Taxi, it feels like the right thing to do and an antidote to the throwaway culture that has certainly contributed to my debts. I need to run it past MiL first, DH said she'll be fine with it, but I think it's manners to ask.

I've been looking on the internet how best to do it, think I'll check out You Tube next, to see if there are any demos on there.

I've put up my freebie curtains and they look miles too short - like a skirt with the lining hanging down! We have nets and although they're not ideal, they do give us privacy - but they are longer than the curtains.

Think I'll have to buy some contrast fabric and add it on the bottom to make them full length. It's all money, but it's a cheaper fix for now....

make do and mend and cheaper solutions are the way to go to bust the debt and make things stretch...you tube is great for videos like that there's also another one DH likes think it's called video jug or similar.

Good morning, another day, another early start

I can't wait for a day when I can laze around all day in my pj's and do nothing. Sadly, today won't be that day.
We have a party at Diggerland at lunchtime - joy of joys. The kids are beside themselves though, so it should be fun.

No present bought yet, but I won the raffle at the quiz the other night and there were loads of kids toys in there so :money: On the other hand, this is a good friend's child and I asked what he wanted and was told. Sadly, none of that was in my raffle prize.........

Just checked the bank accounts, everything ok there. Large mortgage payment has gone out - phew. Think I'll breathe a sigh of relief every month when that one's gone. I think if I do get a bonus in March, I'll definitely put something towards that, as interest wise it's one of my most expensive debts - if not the most now.....

I get paid 2 weeks tomorrow, so 2 more weeks of diesel = £60, plus spends for me / kids = £40. I have a hair appt booked for the end of the month, but I think I'll have to bring it forward. I'm starting look like Patti Smith  A fat version. Grey frizz is not a good look :D

So this morning, I'm going to do a basket of ironing. Make a stew for this evening and put little DD's clothes away, now she has a lovely new wardrobe!

Hope you have a good Sunday whatever you're doing :)
