..and even your approach to parenting may be different for each child. The background values are the same, but the way you deal with it are different. My sister was very hard line with her two, the eldest was like little lord fontleroy, always tidy, constantly washing his hands, bedroom spotless, homework done without quibble; the youngest was full of personality and had an answer for everything.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Both mine sound like the youngest Gill!
I know there's no manual and we're only certain we've done a good job when they reach adulthood. I read a quote from Seinfeld today that said as cute as babies are, they're just here to replace us!
I think the fact that I'm out at work so so much of the day, doesn't help and certainly has an effect on DD1's ezcema....DH thinks I worry too much, perhaps he's right.
Beds made and dinner smells good. So it's bath and bed for the kids and Blast off Belly Fat for me! Have a good evening all0 -

As I tell my clients who have children .... parents are *supposed* to be in the wrong
If everyone is listening *and* talking, I'm sure you'll be fine.

She had a wiggly straw last night, that DD1 wanted. When little DD had finished her drink DD1 asked if she could use it.
The little one said "But I've got germs"
I said - It's ok, we all have
She replied, with eyebrows raised and a big grin - "But my germs have WORMS!" :rotfl:
Woke early. I feel slimmer today so got on the scales and have lost 1lb. Am sticking within the calorie allowance, but didn't exercise last night. A charity bag came through the letterbox, so I spent an hour filling that instead. I finished the ironing, so feel calm as everything is tidy and in it's place.
I think this house motivates me to sort things out. I don't feel overwhelmed or out of control anymore - think that's why I'm able to put my mind to losing weight at last - it feels good!
We are taking the kids down South to my in-laws next weekend, then into London for 2 nights. I've found a good deal for a hotel in Greenwich where we've stayed before and it's on Quidco :money:
Just need to double check DH is ok with it, then I'll book that. It'll be nice to have a few days away together - back on DH's old stomping ground, so he'll love that.
The results of the GNR ballot are out this week so I'm checking my emails obsessively - I really want an independent people I know, including my Auntie in America and a colleague's Dad. So finger's crossed.
Hope you have a good day if you're reading0 -
Fingers crossed for the ballot place - and another hurrah for being in the right "place" in the new house :TSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Well done on the ironing mac - I have another basket waiting for me. *sigh*
The way you describe your little DD does make me laugh - what a character.
We're going down to London on the sleeper in April so looking forward to that as I've never been. :jSuccess is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Good Morning
I was too tired to post last night. Yesterday was a long day - which dragged like hell. Very unusual for me and certainly unwelcome.
The result was, I ate too much to relieve boredom (Why?!?! :wall:) but it's all been put into Nutracheck, so I can adjust my intake for the rest of the week to compensate.
Then arrived home to a letter from the bank, telling me I'd reached my OD limit - 2 weeks before paydayI'm cross with myself, as I've allowed myself a few treats "Now that I'm debt free" But of course I'm not yet, so another :wall:
However, when I double checked, there were a few housey/joint things I'd paid for instead of using the card from our joint account, so it is rectifiable but still......
MUST STAY FOCUSED!!! Why do I need to "consume"?
Anyway, so much for my last post! No, I CAN do anything *if* I put my mind to it, and today is a new day, with renewed vigour. I put on my running gear, but saw the rain and thought twice - naughty. But this evening I will do some exercise, as I know the tiredness/not exercising is a vicious circle. I feel so good when I eat right and exercise so I'm determined not to let one slip up, totally derail me.
Right, off to shower and go to work. Have a good day to anyone reading0 -
I've heard people who "consume", as you say, asked to keep a diary of the extra consumption - what time of day, feelings before, during and after, result, that sort of thing. Plus childhood messages - we either follow them, or rebel against them. And I've certainly heard people on here say that its difficult when you're not absolutely shutting down all expenditure any more - learning to balance "some treats" is difficult ....
