Yes, carp title, but the teacher is good and really encouraging. I like the Pilates one too, I might get another from the 10 Minute Solutions series, the fact that they are only in 10 minute segments mean I don't mind doing it, then end up doing more:j
Just been to see The King's Speech. It was very good, I'd recommend it. DH came reluctantly - he wanted to see Tron, but I've been to enough Sci-Fi films with him and I really hate sci-fi (sorry KC if you're reading). I'm much more at home with a nice European whimsical thing, or an independent artsy film
Not had an knocks on the wall, so presume the kids are ok! Yippee, I might even get a lie in :j0 -
Good Morning!
No kids, so although I woke up at 7am to go for a run, then heard the lashing rain and howling wind and went back to bed(I never normally get the chance, so have to take the opportunities when they arise)
So I laid dozing, deciding what I needed to do this morning.
I've had my porridge with blueberries and sliced banana :A and am going to go for a 6 mile run in about half hour.
I am REALLY feeling the effects of the Pilates DVD - it didn't feel like it was that taxing as I was doing it, but I guess my stomach muscles are so weak that any slight movement has kicked them into action
This evening I will do at least another 20 minutes of that too!
I have lost 3lbs since my last weigh in last week :j But still a long way to go, so I'm not getting too carried away.....
So today will be a sorting, tidying and decluttering the house day:-
Hope those reading have a good day x
- I have to put away the christmas baubles, they are still piled on the sofa and need boxing up and putting back in the cellar
- While I'm at it, I'm going to sort through ones we don't use, and chuck them
- Then I will pull out all the living room furniture and give it a good spring clean
- The playroom/family room/DH's working at home room - needs arranging. It's really a toy dumping ground, many of which don't get played with now, so we'll start to sort and declutter. Give some away to charity/Ebay or chuck others.
- Loads of washing has been done, so I need to put away what doesn't need ironing and iron the rest (groan - I'm going to investigate the cost of an ironing service)
- Run at least 30 minutes, Pilates at least 20 minutes
- Make Sunday Lunch, invite my Mum round who is back from her holidays in Spain - for 3 days - she's left my Dad there while she sorts some buisness matters, then she's going back!
- Do homework, bath kids, read them a story and collapse into bed!

Back from my "run". Only managed 1.49 miles :rotfl: It was so icy I was skidding all over the place. Tried running on the roads but there was so much black ice, I gave it up as a bad job.
194 calories burnt though - so not all's lostRight, another coffee, then on with the list!

Never fear, macgirl! There are plenty of types of SF that I find loathsome - The King's Speech, on the other hand, sounds wonderfulBack from my "run". black ice/running. Not a good combination  I'm glad you're home safe and sound. Though thats a *very* long list :eek:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I do like a challenge though KC
Mum's got a few things to do and is going out, so won't make tea. She's going to visit her sister-in-law who had the stroke. They are very good friends so my Mum has been very upset and frustrated that she couldn't see my Auntie. So that's one off the list!
Next job is baubles....0 -
Reporting in after my run.....3 miles. cold and icy here too, but glad I did it.
Am committing to run on Tuesday after work.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Gosh you lotare fab! I couldnt run if someone was chasing me with a machete!!
Well done you fit fab people!x0 -
I don't go as often as perhaps I could, but when I do I really enjoy it - a great head clearer too which is definitely something that I need!!
if I didn't enjoy it, though, I certainly wouldn't do it!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
5 minute breather.....
Yep, running is the best head clearer, for me all the benefits of running outdoors are how it makes me *feel* rather than look. I'm gutted as I really wanted to go for a long one this morning, but the pavements are trecherous here as we had a few inches of snowfall on Friday. Although it's cleared, there is a lot of black ice and I couldn't stand up
Mum's just been. I gave her lunch and did her hair, as she came home to a burst pipe so has no water. I've asked her to stay here until she goes back to Spain on Tuesday, but she won't.
So, the bathroom has been blitzed and is sparkling :A It's a big room, so takes some doing. I hoovered the bedrooms too and changed the beds.
Sorted the washing and got the ironing into a pile.
Cleaned the kitchen, unloaded and re-stacked the dishwasher and made lunch.
Sorted out a cheque for school dinner money, cleaned the school shoes, washed and dried the coats and sorted the bags.
Next is the blessed baubles and ironing. Then blitz the living room and collapse
Haven't heard from the kidsThough saw them playing with next door's hamster through the window on the way back from my run. They looked happy as Larry, so I'm going to enjoy the solitude and look forward to seeing them later - if they want to come home that is
