    OK, you said it!

Since my last post, (after reading 2 chapters of The Enchanted Wood - think I enjoyed it more than the kids :D)
    1) I have checked both accounts :A No change since yesterday.
    2) Made Feta Salad with added Food Doctor seed mix for lunch made Butternut Squash and Chickpea Curry for tomorrow night's dinner :A:A
    3) Made a strawberry and banana smoothie for the girls in the morning or when we get in from school and they are driving me mad for food:A:A:A
    4) AND inputted every morsel that I will consume tomorrow into my calorie counting website :A:A:A:A

I have spent ALL evening, thinking about, planning and preparing food. It's no wonder I fall off the wagon so easily - it's so boring!

Still, it will all be worth it when I'm slim :) Entered the Mirror ballot for the GNR today too - fingers crossed I'll get in cos I *really* want to do it again :j

    Well done!

I'm wondering about the time this stuff takes too. When I'm operating at proper capacity, not lurgified, I get a good varied diet, but I don't make dishes even then - I bung the ingredients together. I'll have potatoes and quorn mince, but I won't mash them and cook the dish to make a shepherd's pie sort of thing. I doubt I ever will, to be honest.

Macgirl - good luck with the diet. Just restarted mine, although portion size is now a 'fact of life', so it's more a case of tweaking the normal diet a bit, rather than a dramatic change.

You sent me some info on Rome a while ago, just discovered I've managed to lose it. Anyway I've booked cheap flights and even cheaper hotel for 10 nights at the start of June. So the info would be brilliant. Any tips of Rome as cheap as possible would be helpful, also hoping to do some trips out, as the hotel is near the railway station. Naples is currently on the list (Pompei and Herculaneum and Vesuvius), but other ideas would be good.

Hope you get a GNR place.

When they're little they only have small stomach's in comparison to the calories they burn, especially in winter, it was a long time ago, but I remember the 'feed me' sessions.

KC - do you have a freezer, that way you just at least double up the quantities of quorn/potatoes, and freeze in a pyrex dish with the mince at the bottom and mash on top, if you can't be bothered to mash the potatoes, you slice the cooked potatoes on top, then you automatically reheat it as a sort of shepherds pie rather than as the 2 seperates. Even if you've only got an ice box you can do it with odd things.

I do have a freezer now - I love it. I do freeze extra quantities of stuff, absolutely - I was experimenting recently as per Pippi's blog - she was freezing eggs, I was doing milk in small quantities - I need it for visitors/builders, but never touch it myself.

    Good Evening all :hello:

A good day, both workwise and calorie wise :A Been for a run this evening - it was a bit hairy in the dark as I didn't go til 7pm, but the fear made me run that bit faster so I clocked 3.1miles in 29.46.04 (I so *Looooove* my new little toy!) and burnt 430 calories - cha-ching!!! :j:j:j

I seem to have so much more energy too - think it's the running - and perhaps almost 2 weeks off work  but I'm glad I started running again before the NY as everyone at work seems sluggish and usually, I would too. I was reading a training plan at lunchtime - as I have 6 weeks until my half marathon :o - so am going to set the Garmin this evening for interval training. After the run, I didn't feel that hungry, so have eaten half the squash curry and will have the rest tomorrow.

REALLY hope I can keep this up, cos I feel great!

Plus I only spent 60p so *almost* a NSD :D In other money news, bank accounts checked and I've updated the spreadsheet for the house budget. Things look messy because of Christmas, but I still need to keep a close eye on things - and chase DH to pay the bonus he promised into the joint account.
We have seasonal fluctuations for things like Out of School/Holiday Club averages another £103 per month - that I hadn't accounted for.

In my personal account, I have been "treating" myself to clothes recently. After months of buying nothing, I did have a splurge (Topshop, Zara, All Saints :o), but I need to rein that in now for a few months. At least until I get to April and see what/if I get a payrise/bonus.... Even then, I see that going towards the mortgage - really want to make inroads into that this year.

Although managing money is still not my specialist subject, I can't get complacent or resort to old habits so I MUST must must keep checking every day....

Apologies for the long ramble. Hope you've had a good day :)

The checks really keep us on the straight and narrow, don't they ... and they catch any mistakes by companies too, as Hypno has showed so graphically in the last few days.

Your running sounds wonderful! And so enjoyable.

Good Evening, hope those reading have had a good day?

Bank Accounts checked. Nothing untoward showing. A payment for £13 for my half marathon has come out of my account and everything's ok with the joint one.

Spent £20 in George this morning on vests, pants and tights for DD1 who is growing like a tree and tights for little DD, who is the same size as her sister, therefore no hand-me-downs. I withdrew £10 to try and last all weekend - a long shot, but as we have nothing planned it is/was doable.
Then had to spend £5 on flowers for a colleague who announced her pregnancy. She bought them for me when I announced mine and as I was so touched, thought I should do the same.

Tonight I need to tot up exactly how much Christmas cost us. I confess that I was ordering online and spending without paying tooooo much attention. DH last night insisted on a figure so he can make a payment into our joint account. I felt a slight panic, but after a quick scan it is within the budget. There were no big ticket items for the kids this year. The most expensive items were Uggs bought for £39.99 in the Summer sale :money:

A busy day tomorrow to include, dragging the massive tree outside (dreading that one and all the mess that will ensue), cleaning the house, visiting my widowed Aunt and having a facial :D:D:D
