I have this one. It is very good. It links to a website where one can compete with other runners. I did ladies vs men they won because of members.
Enjoy your Garmin , Mac. I am tempted.

Oh I'm not that kind of real runner Gill! :rotfl: I'm very much a plodder
Well, as DH was moping and the girls were playing with next door's kids, I decided to go off on a little homeware sales shopping expedition.
I saw the coffee table I want but decided to wait and let DH see it too. After looking around another shop, I should have bought it - but it'll still be there on Friday so I'll go back then. It feels good to have my impulse gene under control :j0 -
I am only a plodder too but love my garmin

Hi Hypno - hope you've had a good day!
Well after reading Gill's comments about wanting to eat choclate - I did exactly thatA Cornetto AND 5 chocolate biscuits :wall: All this after a very healthy salmon salad for dinner.
That is my problem, my sweet tooth. I *need* something sweet after a meal and no amount of fruit or yogurt does the trick
I read my emails and forgotten I'd signed up to Runner's World weight loss newsletter. So on their advice, I've started a food diary and am examining my reasons for wanting to lose weight. 1 stone and 4 pounds will take my within a healthy BMI and back to what I was when I met DH - so that would be perfect.
I really want to crack this, this year, so if anyone has any pearls of wisdom to help me on my way - please proffer them!0 -

Well, separating from my husband and discovering the "real" me worked wonders for my weight loss.........
Not sure if you have downgraded your OH that much just yet, though :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
No......that's a bit drastic! Sorry, that that's what it took for you though
:grouphug: A friend of mine used to ask me to have an affair with her (very good looking) boyfriend to make her lose weight :rotfl:
Nope, I think mind games are the only way, together with a brutal exercise regimeSo along with the 10k race I'm doing at the end of this month, I've just signed up to do a half marathon 2 weeks later :eek:_pale_
Off to find a plan to help me build from 6 miles to 13.2 in 6 weeks - eeek!!!0 -
I am no position at the moment to give any advice about weight loss, but once in the dim and distant past I lost a stone at weight watchers and the ONLY way I could get it to work was to "point" treats each day and live off Options drinking chocolate in the evenings. I did also do the no points jelly thing if completely desperate.
I remember saving points for a wispa bar........................... and going on long walks to get bonus points. Crikey it was boring.
I have given up Chocolate before but simply replaced it with biscuits, lots of biscuits. I wish to God I could stop the sweet tooth thing but although sometimes I am happy with a small piece of cheese and some plain crackers sugar gets it done every time!Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
I lost a couple of stones in the year before my 40th birthday - it was portion control, and *never* eating after 9pm, except when I worked in London, and didn't even get home till 11pm. That was brilliant. As far as helping deal with a sweet tooth, I agree, fruit simply doesn't cut it - but two things I've found can help. Firstly, strongly flavoured main courses, and secondly, a handful of *dried* fruit - its much more intense than ordinary fruit, of course, and it gives you that *hit* but its still (comparatively) healthy.
Hope this helps.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

That's it in a nutshell Buffy!
Well, I survived today without overeating. I did write everything down that I've eaten, that will become tedious soon - but needs must. I've entered everything into Nutracheck too and I'm on target to reach my target by April if I carry on like this.
Now until I go to bed will be the dangerous time, so I need to "save" some calories so I ca still have a treat and lose weight.
Is anyone still reading?Sadly, the only way for me to do it is to be obsessive.
Right off to make tomorrow's birdseed for lunch, dinner and check the bank accounts. Will catch up later xx0
