Using Friday as a stress free day sounds perfect to me.

My two generally go to their Dad's on a Friday night, (although tonight they are with me) so I have a rule that I will only do what I WANT to do on a Friday evening, not what, perhaps, I SHOULD do.....

It is my one time where I have no responsibilities to anyone, so whether I want to go out on the town, have a few drinks with friends, or just have a soak in the bath, read a book and paint my toenails, I can do so, completely guilt free.

That has made such a difference to me, and really gives me both something to look forward to at the end of a busy week, and sets me up nicely for whatever the weekend presents!

We have a new fabric shop open near our office.....I think I might go and get some samples at lunchtime :D

    Have a good one x

Can I borrow your MIL I have some roses that need pruning desperately and I am scared to do them:eek:

Nice to have a you only shopping day. I went out yesterday afternoon and had a wander round our newly opened Dunelm didn't get the baskets I wanted for christmas hampers but did get a couple of lovely lampshades for my DDs room and saw some material I liked. Decorating today, carpet arriving on wednesday so will be able to put together the wardrobe you suggested from IKEA also bought the matching shelf unit so she can have her little china fairies displayed some of which belonged to DD1 and one in particular is special as it is the one I put on DD1s cake and managed to set light to the glitter on her wings:o

  • Hi MacGirl long time no see
You sound like you have a busy day today.
I also have a rare free day but not sure what I'll be doing yet, Like you I have let the exercise slip and have been snacking on rubbish so I also need to do something about it (all in my resurrected diary!)

Have a good day and enjoy yourself

Hello all and welcome back Miss O :hello:

Well I dropped the kids at school and thought "S*d it* and drove to The Trafford Centre! :D I ended up doing some very leisurely browsing and a bit of shopping.
It was sooooo relaxing as the masses were at work! I love Fridays.

I had a mooch around the homeware shops and ordered some fabric swatches from John Lewis for curtains for the living room, but I won't be doing those until next Summer.
Got home and whizzed round, then collected the girls and a friend who's coming for tea. They all went out and called for the neighbours, so 5 of them are running around and I get chance for a quick cuppa and catch up.

Hope everyone's had a good day - will catch up with the diaries later x
  • Ooh I love the Trafford Centre, although not been for about 18 months - I feel a trip coming on, but I don't think I have long enough while the kids are at school to get back for 3pm.
    Have a nice evening

I'm trying to get DH a present for either Christmas or his 40th which is a couple of weeks after. He was born and bred in London and although he's lived in the North for many years, he still hankers after his home town. I've managed to find a bus blind of the route that he used and from a very happy time in his life.

This is not the trendy framed versions that are around, but the genuine article - so I can get it framed - he'll be well chuffed! He's quite nostalgic in a quiet sort of way and it's quite difficult to get him something meaningful, so I hope this hits the spot.
