Great news on dd and great news on chillout weekend0

Good Morning
Just read back at yesterday's post "hiat appt, cry sense of humour, shooping?" :rotfl: More haste less speed I think!
Just going to have 5 mins around here then, off to clean the kitchen as I was too tired last night. Then pack little DD off to gymnastics and await my In-laws arrival.
I think it'll still raining here, I daren't look out the windowEither way gardening is on the agenda and other than that we'll be mooching at home, then out for tea this evening.
Hope you have a good weekend0 -

We knew what you meant......we have seen enough drunken typing on these boards over the years that we can read *something* out of almost anything
Such good news about DD - I hope it continues, and I hope you have a lovely weekend. Thank you for your help yesterday too x

What a day! I expected my MiL to walk around the garden with me and identify plant names and tell me how to care for them - far from it. She rolled her sleeves up and was pruning roses - up ladders  chopping down trees, digging and getting properly stuck in!!!
We were outside all day after going to the garden centre and then B&Q to try and buy cheaper garden tools (surprisingly, they were cheaper at the garden centre) and manure.
I have learnt so much. I knew in priniciple about cutting roses to the ground but the ones in my garden had been neglected and it took a braver woman than me to do it - and she did
She kept urging me - "Go on - be brave!" then hacked a few feet off one while I let out a little terrified squeal
But the whole place looks brighter and healthier and there is a HUGE pile for DH to take to the tip tomorrow. I've been given my instructions for the second lot to pruning in Feb March, then she said she'll be back in April to check my work - as she muttered under her breath "That's if I haven't already killed 'em" :rotfl:
We all went out to a local lovely pub restaurant and had a nice meal. The kids were all dolled up like it was Christmas and had great fun with Grandad.
I'm shattered now, but in a good "out in the fresh air/hardworking" kinda way.
Oooh and sold 2 items on Ebay so made another £10.99 = £30.99 altogether :T0 -
Your MIL sounds great. I think its really difficult if you've inherited a garden, you've no idea what's there or how well its been looked after. Hopefully by the time the spring comes you'll be more knowledgeable. Bet you're really looking forward to a garden for the girls next summer.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Thats brilliant, macgirl! She sounds excellent, and what a lovely day you had into the bargain - grandad's good with the kids and all, as you say, a good kind of tired.

Thanks both
I've definitely been bitten by the bug. Just been to the garden centre to get some decent gloves, as my hands got ripped to shreds yesterday. There is loads more pruning to do, so I'm off to do a couple of hours while it's still light.
I have to say I am dreading going to work tomorrow and I haven't felt like that for many yearsHopefully, it will be fine and my fears will be unfounded.

Hope you enjoy your day off today - ~I have got that right haven't I? Did you ever make any progress with what you can do on the extra day, or did that get put on hold with the move?Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Good morning, last night is the first full night's sleep I've had in weeks.
The girls have been waking up every night for various reasons; 1 had a cough, the other had a bad dream, covers fell off, "it is time to get up?" at 4am  etc etc
Consequently, I've been a bit brain dead come 8pm and only felt like hibernatingI've been eating far too many sugary things and not exercising, so feel rubbish.
So, I've kicked myself up the bum and am going to get back into my running this weekend, do a DVD today and cut out the sugar.
I've put the washer on and a load in the dryer.
I need to visit my elderly uncle today, post a parcel to my cousin in Ireland, sort through the Christmas presents I've bought and clean the house.
If I can do that quickly, I'm going out shopping to have a recce for presents yet to buy and also look for curtain fabric. Also, this will be a treat to myself as I never get to shop alone
Gill, after Christmas, I'm going to work on the house, so will be upcycling some furniture and making curtains. After that I might make some clothes, but I think I'll just enjoy having a stress free day to myself once a week! Next Friday I'm having a facial and *so* looking forward to that.
First things first though - check the accounts and make sure everything's up to date.
Have a good day whatever your plans0 -
ooh have a good day...especially shopping on your own x0
