Awe and you're already drained from being ill, take care of yourself.

When you are feeling stronger maybe you could think about joining some online parenting site to get advice on how to handle her while looking after your own sanity xx

Thanks KM, in truth I don't know whether I could get across exactly what's she's like.
She has big emotions to deal with, a forceful stubborn nature, she's very deep, she's as hard as nails, yet soft as a kitten, she is aggressive, but very caring, she thinks no one likes her, she's always tired (she's not, she's just a drama queen), she hates all her family - except me. and her Dad. and her sister (?!?), black is white and white is black, etc etc etc

When she hits puberty - I'm moving out!

All seems well other than that. I had a dream that I had a full-on beard last night :o Bit random, would love to know what that means - if anything.

    found this.....
If you are a woman and you dream of growing a beard, signifies the masculine aspect of your personality. You want to be more assertive and wield more power.

To be truthful Gill, I think it's more likely my fear of turning into a bearded lady. I went to bed the other night wondering if I could afford to get my chin hairs lasered! :rotfl:
  • Don't post much, but I do read and enjoy your diary. Congratulations on the unexpected windfall :j, that is great news and just the start of a new sound financial future for your family. After your savings etc, do you think you might join us on the MFW boards?

Your DD sounds just like mine... a proper handful, hyper intelligent, outwardly confident and gregarious but so sensitive, she can hold onto bad feelings for, well, was going to write months there, but she can cry for hours over something minor that happened years ago. Literally. That no-one else can remember. 8 going on 18... if you do find any useful parenting tips please share them as I really am at my wits end. At the moment she is not listening to anything anyone says. The school have asked me to get her ears tested but there really is nothing wrong with her hearing... :rotfl:!

Hi Museumworker, thanks for posting that and please post more often! I went to bed last night thinking I'll have to stop this diary mullarky, wittering on about kids and chinny hairs :o:D
I will defo join the MFW board once everything's sorted :)

DD has calmed down today. My Mum picked them up today as I was working late and she too was exasperated at asking her numerous requests, which fell on deaf ears.
She said Little DD had innocently said "I'm sorry Grandma, but I forgot to turn my ears on today" What do you say to that?

Unfortunately, we don't get expenses unless we stay out over night, so today's trip has cost me about £13. But it was a good day and nice to get out of the office.
Thankfully I feel much better today, so I'm almost back to normal.

My Mum dropped off one of the chairs she's given me. I'm going to paint them and put them round the kitchen table. I'll collect the others this weekend and sand and paint them.
To think I was lusting after a new table and more modern chairs, I actually really love my hotchpotch ones more! At last, I'm learning! :money:

Job for tonight is cancel my Which? subscription - I paid £1 to get a month's free trial to read their report on Boilers, so want to cancel before I forget.
