Yes, I must start writing them down for ammo later!

Evening all, glad it's the end of the working week for me. I got in at 7pm - shattered, then played with the kids for a bit. The shopping was delivered, so I cleaned the kitchen, then put that away.

DH has worked at home today and has been doing some washing (I haven't touched it for a week as I've been ill, so there's a mountain of it :o). He's very good at doing it, but it's the folding/ironing and putting away that he forgets, so that's my job for tonight - great!
Luckily, I found the solicitors letter and insurance details - among a pile of newspapers ready for recycling

We're entertaining at home this weekend, friends tomorrow and then a whole group for a Halloween party on Saturday (think I've gone a bit overboard, Halloween is really an American holiday that's been creeping up on us, good for the kids, but yet another money spinner for the supermarkets )

The house feels like an unorganised tip, so I have that joy to look forward to tomorrow and my ironing tonight. I've had a relatively low spend week. I went to TKMax today and was so proud of myself that I resisted buying new towels - just cos they looked nice. I had to stop and debate it with myself, then put them back :T A small victory on the debt free journey!

A victory indeed, and one that should be celebrated

    Good Morning

I managed to lie in until 6.45am this morning - whoopee. Lots to do today:
    • Check bank accounts
    • Collect chairs from my Mum's and sand and attempt to paint if time allows
    • Blitz the house before friend visits at 10am
    • Unpack the rest of the boxes in the Playroom/Family Room and try to make it look useable and not like a dumping ground
    • Make the Chilli and Chocolate and Pecan Tart for tomorrow night - Yum!
    • Decorate the house with all the Halloween decs I've bought
    • Do ginormous basket of ironing :o
    • Check out the toys sales on Amazon and Sainsburys. I've already bought a few things and got bits in the Summer sales (plus won a box of toys in a raffle :money:), but I'd really like to have all my Christmas shopping done for the end of November - better get cracking!

First job is to email the old house insurance to cancel that. Have a good day if you're reading this :)

    Friend has just left.

    Playroom has been half emptied
    1. Beds Made and bedrooms tidied
    2. In my wisdom I emptied a box of stuff that had come out of our dining room, but ended up in the bathroom(?) (luckily, it's a big bathroom) so that "stuff" needs rehoming next.
    3. I'm giving the kids "brunch" then we're nipping to the butchers and post office.
    4. After that I'll empty my carboot of their Christmas pressies and get 2 of the chairs.
    5. Come home, make Chilli (1 meat, 1 veggie) as they always taste better the day after.
Then my veggie friend is coming this evening, so we can eat some of the veggie one tonight as well!

Pecan Recipe is HERE KC, I haven't tried it yet so will let you know how I get on :)

Plus I haven't got any baking beans, so I assume rice will do the same job?

I think so, macgirl - my sister was saying the other day about always separating that stuff from the pastry with greaseproof paper? Don't know really, oops. I confess - I'll never be enough of a cook to do that regularly - I think what I'd do is use that filling with a crumble mix? Especially since it wouldn't be wheat flour .... I'm very lazy, but I like food!

Hi Taxi :hello: Yes, I do like to be busy! Hope you're feeling ok

Well, the chairs are painted and look nice. I bought Farrow & Ball paint, a bit more expensive but I like their sludgy colours. I've used hardly any, so I can give a few more bits of furniture the "shabby chic" treatment.

I've had a disaster with the flan though :o I moved the tin to the bottom shelf in the oven - forgetting it was a loose bottom tin  So it fell apart in the oven. I tried to salvage it, but to no avail, so DH said he'll bring me some more home.....

Just making tea for the kids, then on with the Chilli's - time is ticking abit too fast! I still need to hoover round, bath the kids, shower and make myself presentable too!!!
