We did have a good night Taxi, 1 bottle of wine and 1 bottle of Champagne later :o Thankfully, I'm feeling ok this morning - just a little slow.

Just made a coffee, so once that kicks in I can start cooking my 50 cocktail sausages, large pot of chilli and pecan flan. Plus bloodied fingers, ghosty meringues and something else which I can't remember :o All before 10am when I have to go to ballet. Eeek - best get on with it!

Happy Hallowe'en weekend to those trick or treating - WOOOOOooooooo!:D

The chairs sound lovely, and I love F&B colours too.

Your halloween treats sound excellent - I confess I will be buying the usual multipacks of sweets, and finishing off the leftovers myself tomorrow evening! We do get loads of trick or treaters round here, but all very well organised, and very respectful. I used to hate trick or treat, but since we have lived here, I have learned that not all kids are bad!

Your evening sounded lovely - and hurrah for no hangover today.

    Have a good one xxx

Well the chairs have dried a different shade than the one I intended. Little DD said "Your chairs have gone grey Mum" (much like my hair after you arrived on the scene, I thought :D)
Anyway, they look better than the "Orange Pine" colour they were yesterday. They are typical farmhouse style, so look abit French shabby chic - if you use your imagination!
Realy I should have painted them a darker colour first - green or grey, then when I rub them artfully with sandpaper they'd look better. As it is, I'm leaving them for today and will sand and wax them next weekend.

We are having 3 families with their kids over this evening, so the food is for them. The trick or treaters will get bags of haribo!

Right 8.40am  MUST, must, must get a move on - will try and catch up later x

sorry, but living round here I HATE hallowe'en. I don't mind the small children, but we get gangs of teenagers, dressed in bin bags and Scream masks, who expect cash not sweets. They also do this thing called mischief night, where they knock and run, and egg /flour your windows.

No one around here (I have been here for 7 years) has ever asked for cash, and you don't see an abundance of eggs or flour littering the village the next day. I have to say that the teens that have knocked on our door have always had good manners, and I have been happy to partake. They also respect the wishes of those who have notes in their windows saying "no thanks". Over the years, our community seems to have done a good job, which is really nice to see!

In years gone by, though, at other places I have lived, I have turned my lights off and pretended I am out, just so I didn't have to answer the door!!! I hated those days!

Oh dear! Trick or treating has really got going, hasn't it :( I can't abide the importation of things like this - we had apple bobbing! I've no idea what people do round here .... I think I'm going to listen to music in the dark :o

BC (before children) DH and I used to turn the lights off and pretend we were out. I agree older kids in Scream masks are scary. There are a few kids who live nearby, plus we'll have 8 so it should have the right tone....

So, cheesy bloodied fingers done and looking fab!
Mini sausages aka little toes :p cooked
Flan case cooked to perfection - after 3rd attempt - filling in and in oven
Ballet and gymnastics done and kids running round the house

Next is prep the chilli and will do the ghost meringues after swimming lesson. Then we're got the 1st birthday party of a family friend. None of us really want to go, but duty calls...

Right, have a good day all :)

    Have a good party.
I too just switch the lights off and ignore the door as once you give to one lot they tell all the others and it becomes non stop.
