Enjoy your party mac.
Hypno, its nice to live in such an area, and you are lucky that new house is still in same place. It didn't used to be so bad around here, but has got quite bad over the last few years.
We used to have a party and do scary food and apple bobbing though when we were younger. But I'm sure we didn't have pumpkins, can remember making lanterns out of turnips (or were they swedes)Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Yes Gill, we used to break our fingers trying to carve a turnip too :rotfl:
Well no extra hour in bed for me - that will come later when I steal a cheeky hour on the sofa
The party went well with the last revellers leaving at 11.30pm - so not too late but all the kids were still up! Little DD crawled in with us at 5.45am (6.45am) and I was already awake.
The kids trashed the place, but luckily we did most of the tidying as we were going along last night, so there's not too much to do.
DH made a treasure chest out of old bits of wood. He spent all afternoon in the cellar making it, with rope handles and painted skull and crossbones! Then he went off to hide it in the woods and off they all went to find it - leaving the Mum's drinking wine. When he opened it back here - they were hysterical - it was a gold coin frenzy!
Today's agenda is do massive ironing basket, sort kids homework, then chill.
Have a good day whatever you're doing and hope everyone enjoyed their "extra hour"0 -
I've never really understood this 'extra hour in bed' thing. Especially if you've got children, they wake up when they wake up, not when the clock tells them to.

I just managed to get an extra hour of insomnia......the only good thing was that I managed to finish my book :rotfl:
ah well - your evening sounds lovely mac! I am looking forward to being able to have people round over the Christmas period in my new house, to admire my Christmas tree in my new bay window and to have some lovely mulled wine and mince pies in my new kitchen
I hope you manage to get your catch up hour later today - have a good one xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Oooh yes, we always get a ridiculously big Christmas tree. It's kind of become a tradition, at least in this house it will fit in. We used to rent a tiny house and had a huge tree that blocked out all the light! DH said "Leave it - it's funny and it's only for 2 weeks of the year!" We don't put ours up until at least mid- December. I'm looking forward to it now!!!
Apparently Aldi do really good mulled wine for £2.99. Might have to get some in..... We've been listening to "Charlie Brown Christmas" in the car. If you haven't got it already, I thoroughly recommend it. It's like the true sound of Christmas.
Yes Hypno, it was sooo nice to be able to have friends round - not 2 at a time like we used to :roftl:
The kitchen is nice and roomy so 8 adults could sit in comfort. The only problem is that the kitchen is so badly designed, that there is nowhere to put anything. So I was filling and emptying the dishwasher all evening to clear space.
The kids and I had to fly to the 1st birthday party of a family friend first. I was a bit worried about the Chilli as being a veggie couldn't taste test it. It looked abit anaemic so my Mum's friends gave me an Oxo to shove in it. It worked a treat, everyone said it was lush0
