Oh I'm so sorry to hear that your little girl is definitely leaving
Hope you manage to celebrate in some way - 25 years is a big achievement. 8 years for us, but we've been together twice as long. I haven't thought about it, but it would be nice to go away overnight, DH could do with a break I think....0 -
hope you're feeling better today xx0

A mega recorder fan here
Heard some recordings by Michala Petri at some point, eldest DS took it up, and got as far as Grade 8 distinction, playing the full range of recorders from sopranino to bass. He did have a proper recorder player as a first teacher, who had a masters in playing it from one of the London Royal Music Colleges.
The plastic yamaha recorders aren't that expensive and you can get 'in tune' sounds out of them unlike some where they'll screech even if an expert tries.
He also played the violin, and if they're learning the Suzuki method, it emphasises more on them listening to the sound and being in tune more. I still smile when I remember the first time he played the 'Bach double' with his teacher as a duet
Just thought on the violin, get the teacher to show you how to retune it, it's easy to knock it and get the strings out of tune, if the violin is out of tune, anything they play will be too!!
He then progressed onto the bassoon, that does sound awful for a start, best description we had, was it sounded like a cow in agony when giving birth and telling everyone about it :rotfl:
If you've not guessed both DSs are musical - don't know where it came from though.
DT our 25th wedding anniversary was spent flying out of London for OH's work, landing in a strange city/country, and then it was a case of it being a bank holiday, so having to go to the 'open all hours' supermarket at the railway station to try to find some food to eatHope to schedule something nicer at a later date, well it can only get better
Hope you manage to plan something nice.

Thanks Se - sounds noisy!
Well I made it into work this morning, but left just after lunch as I still felt bleurghCame home and went straight to bed and to sleep and am starting to feel better. I think the last few months have finally caught up with me. I'm going to allow myself this week off and indulge in some TLC, then resume running next week.
We're having some friends over this saturday - 16 in all  So, I'm a bit miffed that I didn't get any of the sorting that I'd got planned this weekend.... We need more chairs and I've just remembered I spied some at my Mum's they might be getting rid of....If I can have a couple and give them a lick of paint, they'd be perfect and MSE into the bargain :money:
Hope everyone's had a good day - back to work tomorrow!0 -

Thanks Taxi and Gill, yes feeling a bit better this morning, but still rough. Am off to work though
I woke up in the night realising that I still hadn't cancelled the blinkin' house insurance from the other house  I've been up since 6.30 looking for them and a letter I have to post to the solicitors - can't find either  MUST get organised and finding those 2 things will be my number 1 job tonight.
All seems well other than that. I had a dream that I had a full-on beard last nightBit random, would love to know what that means - if anything.
Right, off to down a lemsip and dry my hair, then high-ho it's off to work I go.
Have a good one if you're reading x0
