Thanks Taxi, but you do have an excuse.... Will pop over to your diary in a bit.

I've been pottering online, but not much else. The kids are going loopy with cabin fever, so think we'll have to take them to the park to tire themselves out.

My ears are ringing with the squeals of laughter :o

I feel for you, I really do, windfall or no windfall - I'm similarly trashed energywise .... take care.

Oh the joys of recorder practice - whoever thought it was a good thing to teach children. I know it teaches them music and is cheap to buy, but they never sound good. I should know, I played mine at senior school in the orchestra ( in the Philharmonic Hall, so it had proper acoustics) and have never been able to hear the Allelujah Chorus since without cringing.

Nails down a blackboard always springs to mind! :D

DH took the kids for a walk and I hung the curtains in DD1's room. The previous owners very kindly left blinds, but it's taken until now for us to put up the curtain pole and curtains. It's starting to look more like home now.
Then I hoovered the stairs, made dinner and am knackered now! DH said he'd do it, but I'm trying to act as normal as I've got work tomorrow.

As for the windfall, I do feel very guilty that it's come at a time when many are facing losing their jobs - some of my friends included. Plus, it feels like I've got the easy way out of paying my debts.....I guess that's Catholic guilt - it never leaves you :o

:o:o:o I know, but it's been ingrained since birth.....I blame my Mother!
  • Just have to say with regard to recorders I thought they were awful until I heard my ODs recorder teacher play and it was beautiful and she also lent her recorder to my daughter for her exams and she sounded pretty good too a pity that she gave up :( but as for the violin the thought of having to listen to peanut butter sandwich again makes me shudder :rotfl::rotfl: and it never improved:D

Sorry to hear you have been below par :(

Wow to unexpected windfall - mine is supposed to arrive by Nov 2nd (universe are you listening :T)

And the very best news of all about your little girl :j:j

Thanks DT, hope all's well with you. Isn't the 2nd your Wedding Anniversary? I only remember because it's mine too that day :D

Yes, Little DD seems to be over her little episode - for now. She was busy wrestling with her Dad this evening - she's reminiscent of Giant Haystacks :rotfl:
Gymnastics has given her a new focus, DH said she was straight up on the (6ft ) beam yesterday (though she won't have it that it's called a beam - she calls it a "Bean" :D)

As for Violins - well DD1 wants one, but I'll wait until we hear a tune out of the recorder first - my eardrums can't take it :o
  • I am impressed Macgirl yes the 2nd is our anniversary - our 25th not quite the occasion I had hoped for as our little girl is due to leave us the next day which means a) we won't feel like celebrating and b) we won't be able to even if we did because we can only have certain people babysit for us and none of them will be available. How many for you?

Violins screech screech screech stick to the recorder

    DTxx

But of course if the universe delivers it would be a special day after all!
