    Hello!

Busy Busy. I helped in Little DD's class this morning - reading stories. They were lovely and it's nice to see her settling so well into school. I spoke with her teacher and the headteacher too. They were both really supportive. The Head said she saw what happened yesterday and agrees the best approach is to ignore it. She'll sit DD in the same place every lunchtime, with the same friend to build a routine. I think the noise bothers DD and the Head said not to worry they have a few children like that and they will "nurse her through it". So I feel quite confident that they are onside and happy to be proactive.

Fingers crossed it will sort itself out. Luckily she is always a hearty eater on an evening, so we're going to not stress over breakfast and hope that she comes around herself.

Anyway - money. Paid some cheques into the joint acc this morning. At the machine in Nationwide with a nifty little feature that prints a copy of the cheque on the receipt - love it! (little things)

Then got my hair cut and coloured - within budget - and saved £15 by having a stylist, rather than the salon owner :money:

Bought some furniture stripper and got £2.50 knocked off, as the tin was bashed and there was a bit of stripper dribbling down the side (:o:D) so more cash saved!
Now back to school early to read in DD1's class - she is soooooo excited (about as excited as I will be when I get one whole Friday to myself )

Hope everyone reading is having a good Friday - almost the weekend, Yippeee!!! :j

Poor little DD! When you think of the change it can be, from being at home to going to school, and the differences in our hearing sensitivity ... its surprising more children don't react like that. I'm glad to hear the staff are happy to support you/DD ... ignoring it and giving her positive attention sounds the best way forward, I'm sure you're right.

Good morning and thank you KC :)

I was awake during the night and was thinking about Mr Big's question - what do I need to get rid of in my life to move forward.
The obvious answer is debt of course, but I having moved house, got on top of the clutter, organised the paperwork etc etc, I really want to lose weight.

So at 3am this morning I rejoined Nutracheck. It's a very simple calorie counting website, which will also motivate me to exercise as it knocks the calories burnt off the daily total.
When I joined before, it wasn't my focus, as my eye was on moving and finding a more suitable home for my family. Now that's mission accomplished and this house makes me smile everytime I walk through the door. It really was meant to be :) So I'm concentrating on me next.

I'm also going to start upcycling some old furniture I have and perhaps sell some of it on Ebay, all proceeds will go towards the debt - which is thankfully no longer increasing.

Little DD has gone to gymnastic with Daddy this morning and was chomping at the bit. From today, we are being more strict with mealtimes, to hopefully help her adjust to the formality of eating at school. She is a grazer and we have (foolishly, in hindsight) allowed her to come and go as she pleases :o She's so forceful and in honesty, half the time I think we were too tired to be stricter. Now we use the table all the time, so it will be easier.

Right must shake a leg as ballet dancing beckons - though thankfully I'll just be watching :p

Have a good day to anyone reading x

    Hello

Been a good girl today :A I've cleaned the house from top to bottom. Cut the grass finally, raked it into 3 bags and done some weeding. I attacked it with gusto to burn extra calories (473 to be precise!) :D

Some friends called round this afternoon with some lovely nick-nacks for the house. Lovely wooden hearts, a fabric covered pin board for the kitchen and other nice things I always want to buy for myself, but manage to talk myself out of. So that was a really nice surprise.

    Also managed an NSD :j

Just watching Strictly and the girls doing their version

Blimey, you have been busy! I hope you manage to relax a bit this evening and agree that the "formality" of eating at the table and creating a good food routine can only be a good thing. Not just for DD but for you all as a family xx

We used the table before, but as it was often covered in "stuff"(laundry, paperwork, DH's work) dinner times were not so strict every day and sometimes the children ate together at their little play table.

At weekends we always ate together and still do, but it's so nice to have space and a place for everything - including family meals. Before every room / piece of furniture was dual purpose.
Right, had a glass of red watching Strictly. Now going to put the kids to bed and tackle the ironing. Rock and Roll..... :D
  • Mac how did gymnastics go for little DD?

DH said she loved it, but true to form she wouldn't tell me anything about it! I kept coaxing her and she just put up her hand, grinned and said "STOP!" Fair enough.

Apparently, she was straight up on the beam, doing rolly-polies etc! She's very keen to go again, so finger's crossed we might be onto something :)
She doesn't want to go to the tennis open day tomorrow, though and at £14 per 45 minute lesson - I can't say I'm too bothered. I've made enquiries about a piano teacher, so that's next on the agenda. Thanks for asking :)
  • Sounds promising, fingers crossed..she sounds like a little diva 'talk to the hand' lol

My friends son will never tell her anything he has done, no matter how much he enjoyed it. Once he was out of nursery for the day he never mentioned it. He never mentions school, but love it once he's there. His dad took him to a 'proper' football match and apparently he was really excited, but when he got home and she asked him he just said it was 'OK'
