Well...I always have the treats - just not always the budget :o:o:o So I had to cut them out completely - before that, it was boom and bust.

I think the lump sum is a good one Pooky, provided I don't leave myself short, I think it'd be easier to put that away and forget about it, then know I don't have to find it every month.

Well done on your debt repayment Mummytogirls! That is an impressive amount :T

  • Thanks Macgirl, that was due to a cash injection from DH selling his bike, dont think we will reduce as quickly as that now. Looking forward to hitting the 20% mark :j!

  • Bracelets sound very thoughtful, what a lovely surprise!

Savings fund and mortgage OPs both sound very exciting! How much time did the calculator say your £400 OP would knock off the mortgage? (I am slightly addicted to these calculators!)

Hope you enjoyed Black Swan. I've got it on my lovefilm list for when it is *eventually* released!

    Hello!

MW - the mortgage calculator said that we'd knock off 9 years from the current 25 years of this new mortgage. I doubt we could pay any more than that at the moment, as that takes the monthly repayments to £2000  If DH's business provides more of a dividend, then the extra will go in the pot too. He receives a small sum to cover a Summer holiday and Christmas, so after years of no holidays and Christmas on the Never-never, I don't want to leave us short.

Last night's cinema cost £7 courtesy of Orange - I bought the tickets and my friend bought the v.expensive popcorn and drinks. I liked Black Swan, but it was full-on - every scene was intense. It was a bit overly dramatic in parts and the wobbly, tightly shot, camera work did my head in a bit. Someone described it to me as a psychological unravelling and I think that's accurate. We got a fit of the giggles at one point and then my friend decided to do her own version of Swan Lake on the way out :rotfl:

This evening I plan to do Pilates - though feel very tired. I ran a quick 3 miles last night and will do 6 tomorrow. I have washing and packing to do tomorrow as we are heading to my In-laws on the South Coast tomorrow evening, then on Sunday we're staying over in London and catching up with some Uni mates which should be nice! We plan to visit galleries and DD1 wants to go to the V&A, so should be "relatively" inexpensive (famous last words...)

Best thing is - No work until Wednesday :j:j:j
