I'm a dog owner and pick up wherever she goes - be in on a pavement, in a field or deep in the woods.
I am disgusted with the amount of poo I find and I see no end of owners walking away 'pretending' they didnt see it happen.
I dont understand why they have a dog if they dont want to clear up after it?!?

I think it is disgusting when people don't clean up after their dogs, if they don't wanna clean the poop don't have a dog?

If i see people not scooping, i ask them why they haven't.

The shame soons make them scoop it up.

I have a very large old rottweiler and ALWAYS scoop up his poop, every time we go out I take my long tube stuffed with carriers just in case! My neighbours have noticed that I normally come back loaded up as it were! and I usually get a grin from them!!

I always scoop, I believe in setting an example. But even worse, IMHO than not scooping, is scooping and then chucking it in the bushes!!
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
  • I always always pick up my dogs poo!!
Its horrible when people dont though, he is so dopey though he is always coming back with poo on his paws, on his belly. Had some on his head once.

Its nice for others when people leave their dog poo for others - espeically children

Twice in the past I've put the mess through dirty dog owners' letterboxes, and I'll do it again if necessary tho' it turns my stomach

Funny you should say that, where my OH used to live, there was one particular bloke who would always let his dog dump and just walk off and leave it. One day, OH caught him and said dog in the act and asked if the bloke was going to clean it up, the conversation went something like this only with more expletives....
OH: I hope you are going to f***ing pick that up
Bloke: I haven't got anything to pick it up with
OH: So why are you walking your dog?
    Bloke: Um er, um er
OH: Well you better start thinking of something to pick it up with else I will follow you home and post it through your letterbox you filthy b***ard

    It worked too!

I have 2 dogs and I always bag it and bin it. Cant tolerate irresponsible dog owners

However I have seen on occasions, people who bag it and leave it on the street - I've even heard on another doggie site that they've seen bags of poo hanging from trees - what makes people do this???? They obviously have the decency to bag it but then why chuck it in a tree?

I always clean up after our dogs, using poo bags, those Tesco carrier bags are a nuisance, my OH (jokingly) has a go at some doggie owner friends of ours who use carrier bags, as there so bulky the doggie bins get fuller quicker, and the amount of times I've had to ring the council to ask them to empty the bins as there over flowing was becoming a pain. Another, more serious bug bear for me is when I'm cleaning up after my own dog and end up standing in some other dogs poo, as dogs do like to poo where other dogs have been.
The other morning, one of my dog's did a poo directly under the dog bin, I felt so proud of him, thinking anyone watching will think hes so well trained, but there was no one around to see :rotfl: how sad is that???
I also always clean up even if its in the woods or fields, as I often see families with kids running around, collecting pinecones etc, and think its unfair if these poor kids tread in dog poo, it should be cleaned up regardless of where it is.

I always clean up after my dog. I hate it when people don't. I was arguing with someone about this the other day. I said it is part and parcel of owning a dog just like changing a nappy on your baby. If people can't face the responsibility of doing it DON'T GET A DOG!!!! That simple i think.

    Rant over

We ALWAYS pick up Kikis doo doo.
Doesn't matter where we are, wether it's runny or what - in fact I often get laughed at because I always carry little poop bags just in case so I tend to have them even when I'm not walking her lol.
I would hate to be caught out with nothing to pick it up with so there are some in each of my coats pockets, my handbag etc etc
