That's pretty much the reason why I object so strongly to Section 59.

That said, in the case of the driver in the OP, it sounds like it would be well deserved.
    I quite agree.

If he lives with his parents could you have a word with them?
" The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

  • Ask a police officer to go round and have a word with him in front of his parents
  • Start a book on the street with the neighbours, looks like a good little earner, apart from that, zero you can do.
  • Ask a police officer to go round and have a word with him in front of his parents

What the hell has it got to do with the parents? he is an adult and the police have no evidence unless someone makes a formal complaint or a signed statement and even then, the parents have no right to be told, also if the parents gave a toss they would have ensured the offspring could drive or was responsible enough for driving a car like the GTI, which mummy darling more than likely has ensured in her name and fronted for him. Another ADHD child ; )

If you think two wrongs make a right, then your big screwdriver could meet his 4 tyre sidewalls. If he doesn't have remote central locking fill his lock barrels up with some resin type adhesive stuff. All good reasons for a charge of criminal damage on you though sadly.

Might be better to also get his granny, priest & social worker in on this meeting?
  • I experienced some one like this the other day. Single carriageway, heavy traffic. Some guy in a toyota cuts me up to avoid a head on with a truck. Still, he continues to overtake 2-3 cars at a time as soon as there's a tiny gap in oncoming traffic.

He must either be really late for work or think he's a really good racing driver except no one's really playing along with him coz it's not a race track!.

In the end it's his choice if he fancies squeezing himself between a tractor's rear end and a giant lorry whilst avoiding a head on. I'm happy to sit back, save fuel and follow the car in front. I'm not an experienced driver (4 real years say) but I feel the small silly mistakes and close encounters I've had has improved my driving over the years and learnt that the few seconds saved is not really worth it. These people will only learn when something serious happens - be it getting done by the police or finding themselves or someone else in a pile of blood.

But the risk is that he fails to do that and kills or maims several other people in the process

    Seems reasonable to me....
I also believe brake fluid is a highly efficient paint stripper.....and some sugar in the fuel tank cause the odd problem too!

Unfortunately, many of these idiots can't be told - they're invincible.
It may well be that the way to stop him is for him to make the fast sporty car prohibitively expensive via damage and increased insurance premiums (or is the plural of premium, "premia"???? :))
