How to stop a dangerous driver?

To be fair, the original complaint was about a "youth" in his Golf GTI, so discussing the things we did to our cars back when we were that age, and how we drove them, isn't actually that off topic.0

I didn't acuse you of trashing a thread, the word I used was diverted as in taken of topic. And if the following 5 or 6 threads are about personnal ownership and nothing to do with the op's question than that is exactly the result.
Oh the 2nd comment was meant in a slightly humerous way, but I forgot where you come from.;)

We have a similar problem in our Village, with 3 regular boy racers. one has been banned after overtaking dangerously and forced an off duty police officer comming in the other direction to take avoiding action(plus he had been reported by other residents for his speed/driving). We had to report another as he nearly ran my OH and youngest Son over(no footpath through village). The Police did take it seriously and said they are keeping a lookout for him. Our local Councillor is on the case and we have had a visit by the Highways dept about having the speed limit reduced from 40mph to 30mph and arrangements are being made for the Police to carry out speed checks.0
