  • It's good advice to steer clear of Dealtastic. I ordered something from them, it didn't turn up and no one answered my emails. Thankfully I paid with Paypal, filed a dispute for non-delivery and got my money refunded. I was asked to send back the item I ordered when it arrives.....I'm not going to hold my breath on that one, I suspect I would be in for a long wait, given others' experience.

Dear Unknown Contact (for TS Purposes)
    Thank you for your e-mail.
Trading Standards can confirm that Corebits Services Limited and Zoombits Limited have gone into liquidation and are no longer trading.
It is understood from the liquidators that negotiations are ongoing with a potential buyer for the businesses, however the outcome remains uncertain at this time.
The appointed Liquidators are Begbies Traynor, (Channel Islands) Limited, Charles House, Charles Street, St Helier, Jersey, JE2 4SF
    Advice
If you have paid with a credit card and the value of your order is over £100, you should make a claim against your credit card provider. See the section below titled "Claims against your credit card company for goods over £100".
If you paid with a debit card you should contact your bank to see if they are able to offer you a "chargeback". More information on the chargeback process is detailed below.
If your bank does not operate the chargeback scheme, you should make a claim in writing to the Liquidators giving details of your outstanding order.
I hope this advice will assist you.
    Many thanks

    Date of email - today 14/10/2010 11.00am
Went into liquidation 29/09/2010 (information from liquidators), i.e. while 60% off sale was in progress

Looks like a final cash grab.

Does everyone who ordered after the point of liquidation get their money back then?

Does anyone know what date the 60% off sale started?
It's looking very much like fraud.

    MORE DETAILED INFORMATION
Claims against your credit card company for goods over £100
The law applies only to credit cards and not to debit cards (such as Visa Delta or Maestro) or charge cards (where all charges must be settled at the end of the month). It's possible that you may be able to use 'chargeback' instead to get some or all of your money back (see section headed Chargeback).
Write to the credit provider with the date and details of the transaction, what your problem is and request a full refund.
Remember that, unlike the retailer, the credit provider won’t know anything about the goods you have paid for, so you will need to give full details of your order.
    Chargeback
Chargeback can be used in cases such as goods not arriving or where the merchant has ceased trading.
    It is part of the Visa Scheme Rules, which participating banks subscribe to. It applies to;
    · all Visa debit cards,
    · Visa credit card purchases under £100,
    · prepaid Visa cards, and
    · Visa Electron purchases.
MasterCard operates an equivalent scheme, but this only applies to MasterCard credit card payments, not to purchases made with a Maestro debit card.
American Express does not offer a chargeback scheme.
    When can chargeback be used?
Claims must be addressed to the bank that provides your Visa debit card or your credit card, which in turn will put in a request to the merchant’s bank. As a result, you should still get your money back from the merchant's bank, even if the merchant has ceased to trade.
    Conditions and requirements of chargeback
The main requirement for compensation is evidence that there has been a breach of contract.
There is also a 120-day time limit on claims. This time limit starts from the day you are aware of a problem.
    Chargeback troubleshooting
If you have any trouble when putting in a claim to your credit or Visa debit card provider, try asking to speak to a supervisor. Chargeback is less well-known than section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act which gives you protection on credit card transactions over £100. Some bank staff may not be aware of this rule.

    29th..............

I think they have to return payments made after the point of liquidation (not 100% sure though).

I also bought from this company in the sale, nothings turned up. Have dispute with Paypal. Heres hoping my kids Xmas money finds its way back into the pot for Crimbo.

I bought from them last month also, and their customer services was really bad, although items turned up ok, to the wrong address.... I thought something funny was going on then as the woman on live chat kept contradicting herself.
