    Quick update on the weekend!

Felt a bit better in the afternoon on Sat.

Spent most of today at the allotment. All my first batch of onions had survived the waterlogging and have sprouted. Dug up the last of my potatoes, got a big carrier bag full that had survived the slugs :j Planted the garlic and spinach, cabbage and Kohl Rabi and lettuce that I bought from the garden center a couple of weeks ago. Don't know if they will survive the next few months but worth a try.

Always worth a try I'd say.

    Happy Monday TC and chums.

Aah its safe to come back :-)

Thank you Debt free, NOA, Monz,, ME and Pippi (hope I didn't miss anyone out!)

Didn't get around to phoning the Dr's but found time to phone the vets  Young Mr G had a swollen eye when I went to check on him this morning so have called them out for tomorrow as it is their clinic day and a reduced rate of £9 for the callout. Thats about as money saving as having horses can be I guess :rotfl:

Busy day at work as usual. Am learning some new stuff which will increase my workload but keeps it interesting I guess. :D

Fed ponies tonight. Little one was definitely not himself. Hope the eye is something simple to fix.

Made chicken and bacon pie with Sundays leftovers and smart price bacon pieces. Am having some difficulty with getting the pastry right now I'm on gluten free flour . Fingers crossed it comes out ok. Have got mixed green veg with it, cabbage broccoli and leek, to use up whats in the fridge, and some of tatties I dug up yesterday :D:D

Better go and check on it .....

It was delicious! the Pie was lovely..even if I say so myself :D OH liked it better than his favourite shop bought pie :)

Pastry was a drier and crumbly than my wheat flour pastry but kept its shape. The best bit is it is so much cheaper than buying one from the shop :money:

Tomorrow its just DS and myself for dinner and are having lentil burgers and potatoe wedges. OH won't eat veggie food so we taking advantage of his absence :p It's been a few years since I made them so I had better find a recipe!

    Ta ta for now

Hi DF thanks for dropping by

Mr G has unfortunately got an ulcer in his eye poor fellow, it is very painful the vet said.

He is on box rest for a couple of days, has had sedation for the exam, yellow dye in both eyes, a pain killer injection and anitbiotics one for each eye as an infection in the other one too. Also has bute for a week.

If eyes open normally by this Thurs then Vet to come out next Tues to check. If still closing then vet to come out this Friday as medication may need to be upped

She thinks that he has got bits of the thistles that keep getting tangled in his forelock, into his eyes and scratched the cornea.

He had an eye infection last year too just before I did his insurance and I have a horrible feeling its excluded from the policy :(

Am now at work making up the 2 hours I owe for time off for the vet. Finish at 7 then back up the yard to muck him out and sort out hay and water. not to mention 1st attempt at applying meds to eyelid!

Looks like its fish and chips for tea tonight as won't be home until gone 9 ...best made plans and all that.

Sorry Diaryland for no update for the last few days...am very tired and by the time I sit down at night I can't face looking at a computer! Will try and do an update this evening.

Briefly tho, Mr G's eye is looking better and he was creating such a fuss , I turned him out with his mates last night. Will continue treatment until the vet comes back on Tuesday to see if ulcer is going.

Don't know what the bill is yet.

Phone broke  will have to buy another one ..more expense!

Better fly... dog to walk, ponies to do and then work by 9

    Have a fab Friday All
