Hurrah !! Internet is cooperating if plugged in : ) Virgin said not cancel engineer tho as there is something wrong with the power and it may fall out again.

From my position as bookkeeper i would say the company was in real trouble - this is the end of our busy season and the money made in the summer should see us through the winter. We used to have help with long term students over the winter but they are mainly Libyan and have stopped due to the war. I mentioned back in the spring that we could get into difficulty without the libyan students but he never listens to me i'm only the book keeper :(

Have applied for p/t job at Asda online - only 13 hours but they give losts of extra hours to existing staff rather than employ new ones so fingers crossed. might advertise as a freelance bookkeeper aswell, as my friend makes some money this way.

should be abl to find some xtra p/t work for the xmas period anyway...

Thank you lucielle and lula-hula, it is still sinking in and i'm partially in denial - as keep looking at things that cost money then realising i dare not spend anything! At least he isn't making me redundant immediatly. Have been looking at jobs today and some full time book keeper jobs are only offering 2-4 k over what i will still be getting p/t to i am not as badly off as some. He also has promised to pay my current salary for another 2 months.

Applied for another 4 p/t bookkeeper jobs - just one day a week jobs or a couple of days a month so hopefully will get lots of fingers in pies soon :)

Have just watched the great british bake off and am now really hungery so am eating porridge with jam so not expecting much weight loss tomorrow! watching it made me think of you L and your lovely cakes :)

oops need to update my NSD's as anotherone today :)

Am waiting at home for the Virgin engineer this morning - quite nice to be at home alone pottering doing odd jobs.

Am off on my caravan holiday next week, 4 nights at Dawlish thanks to The S£n. Nearly had second thoughts due to the job situation but it is already paid for and I will take my own food etc so should be reasonably cheap. Just the petrol costs I will have to keep an eye on! Entertainment will be dog walking and reading up on my course books, so cheap! will love to find a nice walk on Dartmoor as have never been there...so i'm off to see if i can find anything on the internet.

Sadly no NSD for me today as had to invest in a paper for the doglet :( (no more expensive puppy pads for us!)

OMG its been nearly 3 years since I was last on here...that was probably the longest holiday anyone has taken in Dawlish lol! Circumstance have changed and am now back :-)

An update on main events in the past 3 years ...promise to keep it short (ish)!

1/ The month of my last post my darling horse of 8 years had a double fracture on her hind leg. We tried to fight it but after 3 months it was was best to let her go. I still miss her 3 years on - RIP Jas

2/ DD decided to leave home when she turned 21 and have only seen her twice since then, although she did stop and talk to me. Won't answer texts or calls. Even her brother doesn't hear from her. Occasionally people who have seen her have told me she is ok but no one knows why she has done this. Am very sad as we shared our love of horses and I thought we were close.

3/ Shortly after this an idiot hit my car giving me severe whip lash. 2 1/2 years later and I'm still struggling to be as active as I was. Have put on loads of weight and all but given up on my allotment and sold my 2nd horse as she was too young to be a field ornament.

4/ Have passed my AAT level 2 to help me improve my job prospects and started dating my Lecturer! Not bad after 12 years of being single!

5/ Changed jobs to what should of been good career move only to discover they only wanted me for their peak period and couldn't really afford to employ me! Took 3 months to find another job which was only p/t , then they too let me go too once their back log was cleared . My confidence was totally destroyed to say the least. Just before last Christmas I took a temp job which has now become permanent. Not totally happy but its a regular wage coming in.

6/ And the most important bit of news. To help me out whilst unemployed my new beau moved in with me :T am very happy although it was all a bit quick. We have both been on our own for quite a while so the last year together has been a bit of a shock and a bit bumpy occasionally!

7/ Unfortunately OH is as rubbish as I am with money, adding another £12k to the debt pile  which he has been paying off with a DMP. He does like to spend money, mainly internet shopping! Sigh!

8/ We are doing a monthly budget and need to plan for the future as he retires in 6 years time and me in 16. Currently we owe over £50k between us and even when the mortgage is paid off I will still have to pay rent on the other 50%

    SO I'M BACK!

    TC x

Oh and I spent my insurance money and have 2 ponios again ....I realize this may have been a mistake...

Wow! New man and new ponies! What a rollercoaster of a ride you've been on. Sorry to hear about your daughter, that must be really hard.

Have you thought about contacting one of the debt charities for both of you?

I'm still here for the journey and will hold your hand for as long as you need me.
