I think you are doing really well TC! Its easy for me to be motivated at the moment as I've only just started my DFW journey. I can easily envisage me losing my motivation if I'm not careful once I've been at it a while. Best get as much paid off whilst I'm going strong!
One vote for Devon btw, not that I'm biased or anything hehe!
If you can just get through these next couple of months and make good habits then you will be over the hump and I'm sure you will find your DFW journey much easier. xx0

            Hi TizerCat,
great to hear that you do have some students coming & well done for recognising that it could well trip you up. My own meander to debt freedom has been littered with such events . .
I fully reccommend what lucielle suggests re the pots, it seems to work for lots of people, me included 0 0

            Thanks eyebright, Lucielle and Lula-Hula.
I think the pots idea might work or maybe seperate bank accounts. Then I can plan for the money in advance, before it arrives and give my self an allowance for 'treats' and make sure some goes to the important debts! another job for the w/e I feel
Had some great news last night too ...DD has decided to have the horse on full loan after all ...so no more neddie bills to pay for a while
I did also mention to her that I would 'sell' her the horse if she would give her brother £500. I explained that I couldn't give her a horse for nothing as I couldn't give her brother anything and that wouldn't be fair.
She seems to be considering it

 Brilliant
My memory is of Gramps's empty Cut Golden Bar pipe tobacco tins recycled by Gran for various expenses; milkman, eggman, coalman, newspaper, christmas etc. Then when 20p pieces came out she started saving them for the Grandchildren - I got £124 on my 21st birthday
Some of my funds such as savings for car expenses & utilities are now held in my linked savings account online, but the principle is the same. I think it's sad that I've had to learn the hard way about budgeting & that any tips I've received, have come from my grandparents rather than my own parents, who never even mentioned a budget to me. Would have saved me a whole lot of bother if they had :rotfl:
Great news on the horse - hope you've enjoyed your riding today
