Spent 2 evenings moving furniture and washing duvet covers ....now being mucked about by work
first students are coming, then not, then probably , then probably not. Left work late...they will phone me sometime over the weekend to let me know either way...probably 10 mins before they arrive!
Remind me not to do them any favours again!
Bought fish and chips and ate them on the beach with doggie....:D
Loaner wants to come back and try horse again on Sunday.
DD refusing to help again and now tells me horse has been bucking and rearing with her when out hacking....do I believe her? I wouldn't want to endanger someone elses daughter
Life is never simple Sigh.....
Picked up new glasses today ...they make a big difference already :T
Riding lesson tomorrow on a nice safe horse

Sorry to hear that your work is messing you about, the only positive is you now have nice shiny house (not that I'm saying it was a pigsty before) Can the person who showed the horse before for you take it for a hack to see if that's true, advise her what your DD said. If that is the case that the neddy is behaving that way can it be advertised on project horse? This will mean a price reduction but could be a way out. Have you tried reading some of the bloggs on Kelly Marks' website? Not sure if your into natural horsemanship or not but so much of it makes sense. Its the only other forum I go on even though I haven't got a horse (at the moment).
I got some new goggles the other week, the prescription had changed slightly and it felt like I'd been out on the lash!!! Very cheap date! Had to put them on first thing in the morning, otherwise I was woozy.
Fish and chips sound good sat on the beach. Took our pooch with us when we went to the river, she smells so much nicer now!! My riding lesson is on Tuesday. Have a great day.

Thank you Lucielle x
Am waiting at home for the now dreaded phone call. Will finish cleaning but am leaving converting the shelf unit into a wardrobe (an Ikea multipurpose piece of furniture) until students actually arrive. Will also have to rush out to Asda and buy a cheap duvet and 4 pillows and food. Hope they don't call at midnight LOL!
If they phone after lunch they will have to wait on the doorstep as riding lesson booked for 2 o'clock and its not being cancelled!
Am a bit annoyed I agreed to this as I want to finalise my budget for the month. Have done a with students and without students budget and a without students menu. I not very good at not knowing what is going to happen......:(
Have agreed that possible loaner can come and ride horse again. I will tell her what my daughter has said and let her make her own mind up.
If i can't rehome the horse I may try having her reschooled with the hope I can eventually ride her....this will cost me loads but at last I will get some use out of her. Alternative would be to do nothing, pay for the horses keep and let DD ride her (DD's preferred option). I wont be able to afford lessons for me too though. Maybe retired her and see if a rescue centre will take her. Or (I have considred it) have the horse put down.
This is getting me down today....I like certainty and feel like I'm going in circles!
Off to do some cleaning...that will make me feel better

Urrgh cleaning never makes me feel better! A good walk to clear my head is what I always go for.
I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling a bit down. Its rubbish you are being messed around regarding the students. Shouldn't they know whats going on?!
Will keep fingers crossed that the potential loaner likes the horse. I don't know anything about horses or their upkeep but I imagine they are expensive to keep. Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your DD. I hope it can all be resolved
Hugs to you. Enjoy your riding lesson!:D And I hope your day/ weekend improves.

Hi Tizercat,
been lurking & admire your tenacity.
Very frustrating about the possible student lodgers ....
Re the horse - I have a grown up DD too & it can be difficult weaning them off your purse :rotfl:. Mine has left home & we get on a lot better for it. I really think that if your daughter wants to keep & ride the horse then she should be prepared to pay for all the costs if you wont be using it at all.
Would/do you pay for the upkeep (insurance, tax, mot, servicing etc) of her car ?
Any adult with a full time job should be budgeting for their own life & not relying on their parents & keeping their own wages as pocket money.
I say this in the spirit of one who has had the battle. Providing costly hobbies for kids for free is for the rich, not the hardworking with debts.
Best of luck & I hope there's a happy solution

Good luck with the loaner and students

Thank you eyebright, lula-hula and Lucielle!
Your support really helps as otherwise it feels like me against DD all the time .
got the phone call at lunchtime... students may be coming next w/e and maybe only for a couple of weeks ...am beginning to think it is not worth all the aggrivation. But then some extra money is better than nothing.
Riding lesson was fun, although still find the instructor scary! Had doubts about continuing as lessons are expensive but they cheer me up. So I have paid for one a week for the month and will see them as my one treat as long as I stick to my budget.
Flat is lovely and clean too!
Dinner and then will take doggie to the allotment...I don't think I have been all week and the weeds will be taking over!

Well I managed dinner last night but didn't get to the allotment. Will have to spend some time today.
DD announced that her work have offered for her to take the horse there for free but she hasn't decided if she wants to do it. She is taking the horse jumping on Thursday and will make her decision then. I hope this isn't just a delaying ploy to put the loaner off! Anyhow have phoned the loaner and explained the situation. I didn't want them to come all the way from Surrey again and then DD to announce she was going to keep her after all. Have left it that if DD decides no then I will let them know.
Spent rest of evening lurking on MSN and watching CSI etc ..lovely!
Weather was lovely when I emptied the doggie his morning! think it will be a gorgeous day for the allotment....
I hope everyone has a chance to enjoy the sunshine..
