People talk about taking the money side of the relationship out......

well thats exactly what happens when two people are in love! It would have been easier and cheaper for me and my partner to stay living with parents, but we moved in together and its costs us a lot more. But we dont care because we want to be together.

i dont think that she wants to keep the house or for any other financial reason. if she wanted to then it would happen.

maybe the love isnt really there from her part unfortunatley.

be like me, leroy. play it cool and the women will come a-flocking!

WE WOULD BOTH BE BETTER OFF!!!

And yet she wants her independence - so SHE WOULD NOT be better off.

To be honest, with an attitude like yours I'm surprised you even have a partner, let alone one that wants to live with you.

I'm calling KNOB TROLL here. Not just any old troll, but one that also a complete knob jockey of the highest order.

OP - I salute you as I did not think people as stupid as you were able to function in the real world. You seem to manage :D

If J has a 26 year old son she's mature enough to decide how she wants to live her life. I think you'd better start sorting out your bankruptcy papers soon.

Nope....the more I think about it...the more I'm convinced that I have to stand firm!!!I have wasted enough money on this.Whatever the equation is we are wasting money by not being together.Lets move things on......

Standing firm isn't likely to get you what you want.

If you say "**** or bust" be prepared for her to choose bust. Then you've lost a) girlfriend, b) business partner and c) easy source of cash to pay your bills.

Looks like a quick way to make sure you're not together...

    Predictable responses.....

Need some help Fellers!!Isn't five years enough to sort out how you feel about someone???

I didnt want it to be an Agony Aunt thread!!!

    Please look at this financially!!

What a catch! Flowers??? How much are they going to cost and only last a week? I'll get you some chocolates from the pound shop if you must have a present for your birthday.
Financially yes it would make sense to move in together but if your really looking to save money I would stay single. It would be much cheaper in the long run.

Jackie comes to stop very weekend as we share a Disco and Kids Party Business. We both have secure full-time jobs during the week.

I want us to live together and have wanted that since the first year.Jackie loves her independence and has an unusually strong bond with her son(26) who still lives at home and hates me with a vengeance.I personally think she is doing him no favours by still wet-nursing him.

What would happen to the business you run together if you fell out?

TBH mate she's not going to move in with you. Her son hates you and there's very little you can do to change it if he's still hating you after 5 years of knowing you.

I'd ask her one last time and then when she says no, explain that you don't want to continue in a relationship that's going nowhere.

Then sort out what you'll do with the business and move on. Be single. Be happy.
  • Looking back over all your previous posts OP, you have posted you SOA asking for creative ideas to help you solve your cash flow crisis....

in summary, you spent £60k on an auction property on impulse, ran up approx £15k debt renovating this property financed by loans & credit cards, have been unable to obtain a second mortgage or further loans and have stated in several posts that you are suffering a cash flow crisis as a result of all this.
(you gave a figure of 5k in your first post-
"Need to clear loans and credit card and find 5K cashflow for restoring harmony.
Interesting scenario???What would you do please.Rather not sell!!!! ")

you are unwilling to sell this property or take in a lodger, and now you seem to be trying to justify expecting your girlfriend to move in to fix a self made problem and alleviate your money problems????
you have also made reference to your mum & a potential inheritance to solve your problems.

Perhaps you need to take some responsibility for yourself and deal with the self made cash flow crisis.

Between this and poor Jackie's potential 'terminal RTA' I'm quite glad I haven't got any money that the OP could ever have his eye on!

If I knew him in real life, I'd sleep with one eye open. ;)
  • Martin, this is Jackie.
