PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. It would probably be beneficial.....a spot of getting in touch with your feminine side could work wonders. Ask Jackie;)
  • We do. My parents live next door to us in our converted stables. We all benefit from the arrangement.

there are a lot of people ready to rush about and talk about wet-nursing / apron strings, etc. Very judgmental.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.
  • Please just listen to what people here are saying (yes, I understand some have been rude, but their advice is still helpful) if you love (and I mean truly cannot live without this woman) then drop this... full stop... because if she catches wind of this thread you do not stand a chance with this woman (if everything you've said about her past is true). I've been in an abusive relationship. I understand why she's wary of not moving in with partners. If my current partner had asked me to move in and I'd declined, then I'd stumbeled across this thread (which is possible as you have given evidence as to who you are in other posts) I think that would be the end. This isn't about money saving, this is about you being selfish. This poor woman has had enough to deal with. She has finally got her indepenence back and you are trying to remove that from her? You should be ashamed. And if you feel like arguing with that statement, fine. SHE IS NOT READY. IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT THEN LEAVE HER ALONE.
