Comping to me seems like the scratching and clicks - alot of effort for next to nothing, but as FF implies - you've got to be in it to win.
I love the way you sort your life out in the bath DT :D I get that from running, though haven't been for weeks due to the snow :o

Have you had any more thoughts of selling your villa or will you still hang onto it? I'm sure you don't want to let it go, but might that be the answer to wiping out your debts and giving you a stress free future?

Good luck, hope you strike Gold soon :) xx

DT, I still think that it is probably worth thinking about your business. Would you consider posting some (even fairly rudimentary) ideas on the Matrix Forum - who knows what may happen?

I agree with both ... and I still think any business has to be online.... I feel like a recording, which is why I haven't said it above .... sorry.

Agree about the 'on-line' bit. What I learned last year (or what perculated in my head from loads of reading) is that there are two core sides to a successful business: a) contribute value to people's lives; and b) most people get hand up on 'quality' but it is actually 'quantity' that matter; in other words - how many people one reaches. Hence, internet can be real blessing here.

There will be more on the internet businesses side on the Matrix Board during the next several days - Mr F is cooking something up.

Year ago, when I was doing my degree, we did a business studies module and I predicted that online shopping for clothes would be the future (it did seem light years away at that point). Everyone I spoke to said they needed to touch and try on and it would never take off......

How I wish I'd had enough foresight to have put my thoughts into some kind of profitable business

It does seem that most people have less and less free time and have more trust in buying online. I think any good service/ product that makes people's lives easier should have legs...
Keep brainstorming and trying, you *will* hit on something that works :)

That is the crux of the thing perhaps I will post on the matrix and ask what would people be prepared to pay for if it would make their life easier - at the moment all I can think of is sending christmas/birthday cards for people although I have rather missed the Christmas card market :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Thanks

  • Re: the separate email accounts, if you have a yahoo account, you can set up accounts that are purely 'throw away', I have a few for posting on different forums etc. so that I don't get spammed too much.

I admire your ability to think things through though. There must be an untapped market somewhere, its just working it out.

Do you like ironing? That's a service I would pay for - especially if they came to collect it too :p
You are good at making and decorating cakes too - what about supplying Celebration cakes? Apologies if you're already thought about and discarded that :o

I knew someone would mention ironing :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I don't do ironing I am only on my second iron ever in my life and even if I could get some other [STRIKE]mug[/STRIKE] :o kind employee to do it I don't think there is much money to be made in it once I paid them too and locally it would be a non runner even if I could bear to do it.

Cakes would have to be local and again I don't live in the sort of area that would pay top notch for cakes I need to be in an affluent area for that there are people round here that do novelty cakes and frankly there is too much work involved for what you could charge.

I really need to tap into busy people with too much money whose time is more valuable than mine but it is going to have to be distance work so has to be something I can do over the net as again I live in the wrong place.

With regard to your ironing it would be cheaper to employ a cleaner who also irons rather than have it collected that would definitely be on my wish list ;)

And finally please do not apologise at least you are coming up with ideas which is more than I am and you never know one might be the idea and you can ask for commission for coming up with it :j

    Sorry for being predictable :o:D

Thinking about one of my friends who is loaded and pays for things I do myself:

    1) Cleaning
    2) Ironing
    3) Curtain making
    4) Childcare......that's it! A family friend set up a nursery supplying first rate nursery education and after school / holiday club facilities and she is now MINTED! I don't know you, but get the impression you would be VERY good at that....HTH x
