A new e savings account is showing this morning, with sort code 50 - 42 - 37 but it doesn't say how it differs from my other one or confirm the interest rate. Does this mean I can transfer before signing any paperwork or tax forms? Of course NatWest should have all my details already.

I noticed that too but there shouldn't be any problem. The terms should be those of the offer you signed up to, ie 2.85% gross (2.89% AER) including bonus for 12 months.

I've now got a whole collection of their e-savings accounts where the bonus has run out and I think they did follow up each new one with a t&c booklet but couldn't swear to it.

Change the names to make sure you move money into the right one and you should get any bonus earned for this month to 31 Oct paid on the following working day.

May be your application didn't work first time? Might be worth applying again - if they end up giving you two, you can always close one, or just not use it.

I wondered about that, however I did get the message at the end stating that I would get a letter within the usual 5 days. :)

Owing to a problem with the web site at the time I too ended up applying twice - once as an existing customer once not. One account appeared online yesterday. Today I got a form to check sign and return which I assume was for the other application.

Has anyone received a written confirmation of opening an account that is already visible online?

    Still not showing.

Could the delay be due to the fact that I opted for a Joint account?

Thankfully I have a number of easy access accounts paying north of 3.2% until next summer. However I have decided to open an account and only funded it with a token deposit until then. This way I 'reserve' the bonus rate for a few months from next June in case nothing better comes along. As I do not intend to use it until then, I am happy for the delay in receiving my welcome letter as I want the bonus to run for as long into the future as possible. I have 28 days to return the signed letter, so I will wait until nearer the deadline.
