I had a terrible customer service experience with Santander when they first took over and wouldn't go back to them and I don't think they would have me back as a customer.

Banks don't tend to hold grudges. So (unless you have poor credit history or a history of fraud!) I doubt there'd be problems with them accepting you back.

Santander have changed significantly in the past few years. Two years ago they were renowned for poor customer service, but that's completely changed. In my experience, it's now significantly better than Natwest's service.

If you've got £20k in savings and want instant access, I can't think of anywhere better.

Lower than expected interest payments again this month.
I add quite a bit extra each month, but yet the interest and bonus amounts added today have been the lowest I've had in months!
Will never understand how natwest calculate their interest amounts!

The 1st October interest ties in to the exact penny in my case based on 29 days interest at 2.85% AER

It has tied in to within 1p for the previous 3 months:

    September - 29 days (2nd Sept to 1st Oct)
    August - 32 days (1st August to 2nd Sept)
    July - 31 days (1st July to 1st August)

The monthly discrepancies for those with a steady balance are due to the differing number of days between payments. You would expect the September interest (29 days) to be in the region of 10% less than the August interest (32 days).
    I came, I saw, I melted
