Please be aware of the following from the Bonus Offer Terms & Conditions:
'The bonus interest will be paid as a separate credit on the last working day of each month. If your account is closed beforethe end of the bonus interest period, any bonus interest accrued in the month of closure will not be paid.'0 -
I can't believe they have done this. Just logged into my account and the offer popped up. Two days ago I moved nearly all of my e-savings to Halifax, keeping £100 for emergencies in the account. What a waste of time this all is.
When it is opened it will be the third e-savings showing in my accounts list, two of which will have a zero balance0 -
Mine will also be my third e-saver in my list of accounts! Ridiculous, but at least it was easy to set up again! Like I said, I'm currently getting a better rate with Santander up until Feb, but thought I better open one now, as they could withdraw it at any time! I've also opened another one for my partner, it will be his second. Does it make any difference if we have lots of 'open' accounts that aren't active?
No problem on the heads up. I take it they only added it today then!0 -
Thanks for the warning. My original bonus expired last week, so have opened a new one up. It will save me moving funds elsewhere, I just don't know why they couldn't extend the original offer._____________________________________________Mortgage 1 £80k paid off july 2014Mortgage 2 £213k paid off May 20210

I've only just seen this, despite being my main bank and searching on best buys all week, did it start today? I think the bonus is for a year, how long do these offers usually last before withdrawal?
Well it's obviously popular

When I went to apply earlier today there were three options boxes with descriptions along the lines of
Already a NatWest customer with a current account
Already a NatWest customer without a current account
Not yet a NatWest customer.
Underneath there were three buttons (without descriptions) to proceed. It seems that whatever box one selected it was the button that mattered as I was treated as not having a current account already.
Later on the issue had been fixed with just one button to proceed. So I applied again as a current account holder. On past experience the first application will result in paperwork being sent to to fill in and return thus delaying the opening of the new account.
You'd have thought that after the IT issues NatWest experienced a few months ago that they would have made sure that they tested the application page on the website before putting it live!0 -
I logged into my Natwest online banking earlier and a message popped up about the e-saver. Said something like "...will take no more than 5 minutes to apply".
It actually took about 20 seconds - just had to confirm nationality and residency, and then there was a message saying the account had been opened & I would receive the acct number and sort code, as well as online access to it, within 3 days.
I couldn't find anything anywhere that spelt out that the account offers unlimited withdrawals and doesn't require any notice for withdrawals - - anyone seen something like this? All I could find was that it is an instant access account. So be common understanding, withdrawals shouldn't be a problem. But I'd rather see the T&Cs spelt out rather than assume what they are.0 -

But RBS have a daily limit for internet Faster Payments withdrawals by retail customers which is/was £10,000 per day. You could presumably transfer unlimited amounts to your current account, though I'm not sure, and could then issue a cheque or use CHAPS. Using the old slow-motion BACS isn't an option.0 -
