Natwest/RBS 2.85% esaver

I'd already done that
I've transferred the 10k daily limit in to Santander, and transferred £1 back to Natwest. Both transactions were instant! Very impressed! 0 -
Just had a letter from NatWest saying that the 1.85 bonus is extended to the end of Feb 2013. They must have lost Billions with this c**k up.0
-
Really that's random! Was your bonus until Feb 2012 originally or did you have a year extension?
Even if they offered me 2.85% again I wouldn't go back. Getting 4% on 12k from monmouthshire and the rest is with Santander.
Natwests decent ISA rates are now just for new customers. Makes me so angry! My ISA is currently being transferred to Santander, soon ill have nothing left with Natwest!0 -
Yes my bonus ended in Feb 2012 and I moved all but a few quid out of natwest.0
-
Not sure when this started, so some of you may already be aware, but they are offering the rate of 2.85% again! I'll still be sticking to my higher rate with Santander, but have opened one ready to move it back over to Natwest for when my year bonus is up with Santander.
The Natwest Esaver has a rate of 1% with a 1.81% 12 month bonus.
Took about 30 seconds for me to open, just had to tick a box and click accept, and it said they will write to me within 3 days with my account number.0 -
Thanks for that. I kept checking up to a few days ago to see if they'd brought out a new issue, as they've done for a few years now, and it wasn't there.
Useful account for NW current account customers - who would have been saved the hassle of moving out money if they'd announced it week earlier.0 -
My bonus ended on 16th October, so I have opened the new one for now just for the ease of moving it.0
-
Just opened one. Thanks to eviekins for the heads-up.
Does make you wonder why they couldn't have left them open this last year, and why they didn't automatically contact people like me who stopped using theirs when the bonus expired. Bankers!0 -
Pity they did not keep this up last year when I shifted all my money to Northern rock paying this rate.

I pleaded with them several times before I moved my pot; without any success.
I will apply for another as it's useful to have it can join my 3 other Natwest esave accounts that are empty ATM.
Thanks to evekins for giving the info.0 -
I notice that unlike previous issues (which, very confusingly, paid the bonus rate from the 16th of the month that followed the month of opening) this time the bonus starts immediately from the day of opening.
I didn't notice any limit on the number of accounts, if so, you could open another account at a later date to extend the time you get the bonus. Difficulty will be knowing when they end the offer.0
