  • Everything unless it's gifts for other people! Seriously that's the only time I like to part with my cash!
I hate paying the service charge on a flat thats £150 a month and getting nothing for it. All bills. Interest. Hair products. Washing powder. Anything that I really like but is overpriced!

Ditto! We generally only watch the BBC News, everything else is on Sky. I wish there was an opt out!
  • Bottled water at airport terminals! Such a rip off!

Any shops which don't sell generic painkillers so you have to pay £3 for some ibuprofen instead of 40p.

    UK train fares...bloomin' ridiculous.

And yes, VAT on sanitary products!

Petrol, petrol petrol. If I am spending £50 - 60 on anything else then it is considered and researched so really grudge that level of spend just to fill the petrol tank.

    OOoooH....dont get me started....

I was only working out recently that, at a very rough guess, I will have spent about £550 on health care by the end of this year. I'm basically a pretty healthy person - but, with all the failings/gaps in the NHS provision, by the time I come to the end of this year I think thats about the amount that will have come out of my bank balance just to deal with pretty minor ailments - and thats not counting the health insurance:mad:. This is actually a pretty cheap year on the health care provision front - some years I have had to spend over £1,000 on health care.

As I said - I'm basically a pretty healthy person and dont require much "attention" at all - so I dread to think how much someone has to spend on health care if they have some pretty major illness scenario (thanks to the various failures of the NHS to provide adequate health care).

Of course an even worse scenario would be needing to spend that amount of money to make up for NHS deficiencies - and not even having it available to spend and having to watch ones health deteriorating when a bit of money spent (by someone/anyone - NHS or the person themselves - would mean the problem was resolved).

...work uniform! I go to a charity shop and find trousers (usually a fiver, top brands and brand new condition) and £1.50 shirts from primark.

I understand where you are coming from there. The employer is the one who needs it - therefore the employer is the one who should pay for it.
  • Anything in the way of utility bills where I have no option. Hairdresser prices are off the wall
how can they just put up prices when everyone is taking a hit, so I'm growing my hair. Also, I strongly object to having to pay for a pee---it used to be called spending a penny---more like a pound now.
