    Part of the Furniture
Just wanted to say hi over here after you posted on my diary. The motivation will come it took me ages to do anything to the house when I first moved into my place, let alone considering ways to earn more or change jobs. I've been there 5 years and only just thought about overpaying altho I could at any time in the past. At least I'm at the thinking stage god knows when I'll get to the doing stage!

I live near MK, the road numbers and roundabouts are ok, but i don't understand how I can turn left at four consecutive roundabouts and not end up where I started!

Oh and congrats on your first OP getting through.

    How are things going, Georgie?

Have you sorted everything out about your kids' schools? What's up with DS1 to make them want to put him a nurture room and make lessons optional?

Well done on getting the council tax sorted. Have you also got the tax credits people to send you everything you're entitled to? And how's your battle with BG and the hopeless radiators/HW been going?

I still haven't got my shower fitted, and still haven't got round to monitoring my usage of utilities. :(

    Not bad, thanks for asking...

Things have settled down a bit now, easter came and the kids went away with a. n. other. parent and got very destablised, and lashed out... The school he's at now have just labeled him as a troublemaker and won't really engage with him, I'm hoping that if I can prep the new school he will get a different style of teaching!:o

My short-lived career as a tax cheat is finally over, thankfully... It's not that I'm a goody two-shoes, its just that not paying my way makes me feel really uncomfortable, and breaks several rules!

Err... yeah, BG, well... I've not really done anything, some of the rads work, I have hot water but the heating leaves a lot to be desired, mostly because of the gaud-awful boiler I have, so that will have to be replaced at some point!

Yes... shower... I need one of those, I don't like baths! And I need to read my meters:eek: I don't like being an adult... its boring!

On a better note, got to my NSD target for last month, only minor cheating going on, and have just made my first ever AP order, so random store cupboard food is now on its way to me...

Sorry to hear about DS1 getting destabilised - it's very demoralising if your parenting is being undermined like that. Hope he settles down again soon. How often do they see a.n.other parent? Keep us posted about how you and he get on with the new school.

My order from AP turned up on wednesday, really fast, am impressed with them, not so much the currier... I made sure there was someone in and the second box got delivered but the first box was delivered to my neighbours?!

Nevermind, my cupboards are groaning with random food now and I have made a decision, well several but some are more important than others...
    1. Kids: I'm no longer going to try to be accomodating/go for the easy life/generally be a nice person... I am going to do what I think is right for my kids, stuff everyone else!
    2. My bedroom is going to be teal, everything dark and cave like, I'm not planning to move for a while, and when I do I can magnolia it anyway!
    3. My garden plans are coming along, just the plans mind, I haven't actually done anything! My kids are brilliant, btw, I was looking at playhouses, mostly because in all the kids plans of the garden there was a play house, £200 for the cheapest and nastiest, DS1 had an idea about a tent, well 20 mins later and we are going to build a tipi, £70 and a much better solution!
    4. I need to get back to proper MSE ways... I've let things slide a little, tea from the coffee shop at work, buying lunch etc, little things that do add up, they need to stop!
Taking inspiration from Lois, I'm going to have to run a spending diary, I want to fix up the house and make larger overpayments!

Well... proper MSE ways, err... yeah... I did say that didn't I...

I had a little, tiny, I mean teeny tiny, consumer meltdown yesterday...

I have excuses, I'm very good with excuses... I haven't really been sleeping, it's the wrong 'lunar' phase :o, I got distracted...

I went into the shopping centre for lunch, facepalm, well I needed some stuff in land of pound, and I was going to treat myself out of my points at boots, well I did both of those things, went into land of pound and only bought what I needed, spent some hard won points on a couple of nice bobby pins for my hair... then I walked into Look a la new... and I may have just bought a top, a very nice top... that I didn't really need... ooops...

Ahh well, its not like a make a habit of it, so I'm not beating myself up too much:D

Just one more little confession to make, I haven't started the spending diary yet either:p

Enjoy wearing the top and don't beat yourself up about it. :)

Why not get your spending diary all set up - decide on some categories of spending, and set up a spreadsheet or notebook or whatever you're going to use - and make sure it's all ready to start on 1st July, or your next payday, or your next mortgage payment day, or whenever you want your months to run from.

Long time, no update... well several weeks...

Been a busy couple of weeks, not really had much time to myself, hey whats new...

Not paid anymore off my mortgage, this is really not fast enough for me... monthly is no good, I don't have the wherewithal to wait!

I have now been walking into work for nearly 3 months now, a four mile round trip every weekday, again not really seeing all the results I want as I've not dropped a dress size, well I have started to wear belts and the walk is easier so I am getting fitter...

We are going to see the new schools for september so that should be interesting, I need to get DS1s new school to try to teach him... his current school has given up on him, I don't think he's that bad, you just can't let him get away with anything!

    Well

New schools have been given the seal of approval, both boys like them, as much as they are ever going to like a school... we will see in september how it goes...

Spending diary up and running, well since payday, so I'm starting to pay attention to what I'm spending so will look at some stats later too see how bad I am with money...
