    NOW SOMETHING SERIOUS

I can't say too much but Budgie voulunteers once a week at a telephone support service. Yesterday I spoke to a lady who has a family member due out of rehab soon, she told me a tragic tale of a series of events which led to this persons drinking.

It was so sad but it makes you think of what could happen? I have been thinking as we have the desire to drink, even though many on here are not alcoholics then would something traumatic lead to such a senario?

I know each of us are different, but it has worried me personally :o

Sorry I don't want to offend anyone or sumise that this senario would happen to anyone else. But it is troubling me somewhat ..............

On a brighter note: ITS THE FIRST LIVE X FACTOR SHOW TONIGHT :j

Oh and the apprentice has started too :j But if this bunch are the best of the best  well all I will say is there are some very annoying upstarts that so need to develope some people skills. A bit of compassion and humility would also help, along with a personality ;)

So special hugs to the special ones ;) (()) xxxxxxxxxxxx

Hugs to our new posters and to any lurkers out there too. (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

On a ramdom note I am making herby dumplings later :)

Just thought I would share :)

    God Bless Budgie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • I have friends who have been in and out of rehab each time hoping that the new treatment center will be able to offer a miracle cure for their addiction.

I am not a great fan of the AA Big Book as I find it heavy going, but this comment from chapter #5 is relevant:

I wish I could, I did try to get the Monday off as a holiday but couldn't as its half term week and my boss and another colleague are off that week.

I really do feel like I will be missing out on a fab evening :( and we all know that Budgie hates to miss anything ;)

But I did have a chat with our Darling Jo and my Ds is currently house hunting, so when he does buy somewhere then I shall be down alot more and I WILL EXPECT NOTHING LESS THAN YOU TO DROP EVERYTHING AND MEET ME, ALONG WITH ALL THE OTHER LONDON LOT ;)

He has all of his deposit now so he just needs to find a house, he has offered on one but it was not accepted. The only problem I have is that he just wants to chat about houses, and thats all I talk about all day at work

I am sad though as I shall miss Fay and I've no idea when she can get down again......................

So love n hugs and take care.

OT - I can't believe that they are on the verge of getting to the trapped Chilean miners....I've been following this story since it broke and expected it to take much longer to reach them.

My partner and I discussed this - if you were trapped underground and it was going to take 3 or 4 months to get you out, would you want to know that? Or would you prefer to be told that they don't know how long it will take but they are doing their best?

I definitely would do better not knowing it was going to take months but partner said he would need to know. I don't know if they told the miners or not....I wonder if any of the miners will be unable to go back underground....
