  • Hello everyone, and what a lovely day it is.

Well done everyone with your weight loss.

Well my cutting down this week and last is going really well, and gosh cannot believe how much more up beat I feel already.

I will be taking redundancy from work in a few months time and have enrolled for a home study course so I can do something completely different, so feeling really positive.

I have loads of wine in the cupboard, but none opened, so, so far I can resist it so long as I have my mindset correct, but if that changes I will have to get rid.

    Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Mackeroo, don't put it down the drain - freeze it! That way you can't drink it, but you can use it in sauces/cooking. It also means you don't need to buy a bottle for cooking and then "Whoops, can't waste that I'll drink the rest". I have some red in the freezer for the next coq-au-vin!

Thanks for the top tip chloris, never thought of doing that, will just go and do it now.
Been on a bit of a baking frenzy this morning, made lemon drizzle cake and carrot cake, never made either of those cakes before and they both look edible which is always a bonus:rotfl:

Anyone coming on the TUC march tomorrow?
    enjoy the sunshine

I'll be there, just sorting out my SW friendly pasta salad to take with me! I'm hoping being out and busy and then going to theatre in the evening will help to keep it a low alcohol day if not completely free.

I do understand where you're all coming from with the 'no alcohol in the house' theme. I do the same with sweets, biscuits, crisps etc I only buy a few that I don't like for my DH. On the alcohol front, my DH drinks a small amount each day (2 small glasses with his dinner) plus we have a well stocked cupboard of spirits. So it's down to will-power here!:D

Down to willpower in my house too maman. My DH works for a brewery and is forever bringing freebies home . Sorry to say I had no willpower last night, and after a particularly horrible day at work, I didn't even reach for the freebies. Instead we went and sat outside the social club with the dog and had a couple of beers. Luckily I stopped at 2, which is good for me. I did open a bottle of beer when I got home, but poured it down the sink, as I didn't fancy it in the end.

Not sure if I'm going to have a drink or not tonight. Mum is finally coming out of hospital today, and I may go round and cook for her if she wants me to. If not, I have to go shopping tonight anyway, so I'll see how I feel tonight.

Can I creep back quietly into the thread and hope no one notices?
I have been dreadful this month - drinking everyday, not sozzled but enough to get a buzz on. DH even said we should stop drinking on school nights - very unusual for him as he just has the one normally and then stops. He's been under pressure at work though so has lent on the bottle a bit.
Anyway, tonight I am AF so hoping for a good nights sleep. Will start afresh in April (but I think I said the same thing last month :-/.
    Trying to keep in budget.

13AFDs for me. Flu is powering me through my targets days-I wish it wasnt though. Hope everyone is well-i'm turning in early after my peppermint tea-to settle my dodgy stomach! Well done everyone who has lost weight Miss P, mackeroo and maman just to name a few. I've lost four pounds since Monday but unfortunately it's all down to flu and none to willpower-I look about 10 years older today-a bit like a tortoise with a skinny neck. Not a good look! Good Evening Everyone...lovely to see some new names on here :j:j

I don`t post much now but I do read/lurk mostly at silly o`clock in the morning as, despite my AFness since Aug 2009, I never regained a decent sleep pattern. Maybe I never needed that much sleep anyway.

Good luck to you all & remember its a day at a time...an hour at a time sometimes (or maybe that was just me:o) but cutting down by any amount is a step in the right direction.

Be strong & have a great weekend x

ps to all that remember me I am still addicted to Roses Lime cordial & sparkling water...:eek::o:o

    Hi

We have very nearly reached 5000 posts so I have asked for this thread to be locked and started a new thread - number 10 - here.

    See you over there.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
