Hi all,
Just a wee note to say, I may not always post but follow this thread with intrest and am always rooting for you all to acheive your targets!!
I am abstitnent (SP), first real sober christmas, last year I was sober but relapsed on the 28th, experienced my first black out and went to my own personal 'rock bottom'.
This year is so different, after the first month or so the craving and obsession went for alcohol and apart from the occasional bell alcohol has not bothered me.
I am dealing with my feelings and feel so alive. I am however at times panic stricken that I could relapse but by keeping it in the day and not projecting too much, im ok.
This time last year was awful for me although I was sober, was picking up the pieces from my last binge, felt like !!!!, my liver ached, I looked pale and deathly but worst of all I was so scared and anxious about everything, I feel like I am a thousand miles from that today!!
I have not had one day off sick all year (I used to think they were my right!!!) not lost a phone, no arguments and life is good.
Im not saying its a disney film, i have lost my dad this year and struggled with grief, but I did not drink on it. I am and always will be the problem, a problem that alcohol does not solve, just intensifies.
lots of love and sober vibes to you all (if you want them that is!!)

Hi JG,
I can relate to your story, I was sober for the most of last year but relapsed a couple of days before xmas and spent xmas day and boxing day making a complete tit of myself. I didnt drink last NYE but relapsed shortly after and the whole year had been spent on and off the wagon eventually ending up with having a bit of a nervous breakdown (and reaching my own personal rock bottom) a couple of weeks ago when Im decided once and for all that I dont want to drink ever again, I am also constantly panic stricken that I may relapse again and have promised myself that if I do its off to an AA meeting. I am actually really looking forward to a sober xmas and realise that it will be the first time for many many years that I will not wake up with a hangover on xmas morning. Good luck for xmas, NY and the year ahead and thanks for inspiring me xxx0 -

AFD 8 for me.
Not going to start now, going to reward myself in a minute with a hot mince pie smothered in cream.
2 out of 9 to do, I think I can manage that. Only have about £60 to last until New Year anyway (if I make my End of Month balance target that is), so that'll curb the alcofrolics.
