  • Incidentally I've been keeping the tops of wine and spirit bottles, not sure how long for ... maybe around 8-9 months. Might do it next year, just to make me think before buying a new bottle.

    Current tally:

    Morgan's Spiced Rum ...... 9 lids

    Smirnoff ...................... 4 lids
    Bacardi ........................ 5 lids

    Other spirits (unidentified) 7 lids

    Miscellaneous wine ........ 8 lids

(I don't think all the wine tops have been kept though)

Rum and coke is my weakness as you might guess. Just goes down too easily. At least beer fills me up quickly.
  • Hi all.

Some very impressive scores so well done folks. Hope everyone who has been poorly is feeling better.

AF tonight so 5 for me please Shaggy.

Good to hear how well you are feeling Mrs JG.

We had lots more snow today and got into work only to be sent home. I'm not sure of that is going to be counted as holiday but it isn't really fair as we made the effort to get in and the place closed for the day.

Still finding each AF day quite difficult and haven't managed many this month. There is still a chance I may make my target yet! Getting past the 7 o'clock bells isn't easy but gets better as the evening goes on.

    Best wishes

Some folks hoard empty bottles as they are too embarrassed to take them all to the recycling bins.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

  • 14 AF DAYS PLEASE.

friends who know I am not drinking came round yesterday and normally I would pour out the alcoholic beverages without hesitation. Instead we sat round and drank coffee and ate mince pies. It was really nice and calm and civilised instead of manic and excitable. The only thing that bugged me was that

    1. I hoped that thery werent bored

    2. I wondered what they thought of the new calm me as usually
"I`m the life and soul of the party" - will they decide that I`ve just become boring and stay away in future ?

I keep telling myself that true friends will except you no matter what.
  • No more AF to report!

decided to have a lil tipple last night. I had 5 vodka and cranberries :o However i do now measure drinks so 5 now is a big difference to what 5 used to be :)

    Planning to be AF tonight

hugs to all who may need them

Last time I was here it was in the end of October and I did finish October with 31 AFDs. However it has been steady down hill ever since. And I think that I have had at least a half glass of Port or a glass of wine every night for last 1.5-2 weeks. So I shall come back here with tail between legs. I have still two thirds of port left and I am going to drink the left in responsible way but then it is new budget year so no more buying the stuff. :o

So need to be here more. As long as I declared my AF days it was easy to stick with them.

am on decongestants which say "no alcohol!". Well thats me sorted then.:o

(won't mention the pyjamas from the out-laws that had a label on saying reduced as one pair missing....:rotfl:)

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I just love stories about the outlaws, they make me laugh at loud. What pr*ts! Glad piglet enjoyed his birthday despite them.

Oops MissP, I've been taking decongestants too but I didn't read that! This may explain what happened yesterday:

I was up in London for the day. Had a great time which involved wining and dining (but rather too much of the former). I ended up going to sleep in the theatre afterwards and OH had to keep poking me to stop me snoring.:o I'm not even hungover today. I thought it was either because my tolerance levels have dropped hugely or because I don't sleep well on sober nights but it may be pills. Any excuse gratefully received.:)

I do feel ashamed of myself though. I think that's partly a measure of how much more in control I am. I've done so many far more outrageous things than falling asleep in the past while under the influence.

AF planned for today. Hope that wagon will be 'standing room only' this evening!
  • 12 for me Shaggy. Work do today but am going to try and have an AF Christmas Eve (unheard of previously chez 'shopper) so will see how that goes. Then would just need to squeeze in another 2 between christmas and NYE. That's the plan anyway. Had a few cocktails last night and managed to leave my trousers in the restaurant. Not as bad as that sounds, thankfully :rotfl:
