Hello everyone!
I only have 1 AFD to report, thanks.
Am still drinking virtually every day and whilst some posters are ashamed about having a glass of port or 1 bottle of wine a day, I get through 3/4 bottle of spirits at least when I drink and that's 5 times a week usually, sometimes 6 days a week, so please go easy on yourselves, but also be vigilent because it soon escalates!
Anyway, I've bought no more booze for Xmas and am spending it with my casual man friend (I am getting divorced after all, LOL) who hardly drinks, so that will influence my day to not drink and I am very very happy about that.
Have a lovely Thursday everyone, I appreciate you all so much on this site. You are my rocks and lifelines.
Hugs,
Caz

I'm new to this forum. I'm drinking too much and need to stop. I've seen my GP and Addaction and they agree. So as of 27th Dec, I'll be cutting back by 10% per day! Apparently, I'm physically dependent so can't just stop outright.
I've been drinking around 4-6 pints of Scrumpy Jack or a bottle of wine every night for the past 7 years! I have stopped drinking wine now and it's my aim to be drinking only 1 pint of cider per night by week 3 of 2011.
I'm happy that I never drink before 5 - 5.30 pm. BUT I'm not happy that I sometimes pass out and / or forget a whole evening!
I'm hoping I can get support here as well as other places, in order to stop drinking altogether!

:eek::eek: You gave me one hell of a shock cazz, then realised you were trying to do fractions!! Take care and enjoy your Christmas with your new friend.barshamhillbilly wrote: »Well that's my first AF day for a long while done and dusted. Quite pleased with myself for a change
:Twell done BHB. You're right, distraction's the thing!
Welcome happysinglemum. Sounds like you've taken good advice and have a good plan. Enjoy your Christmas and then have lots of distractions and soft drinks ready for 27th. Call in here often.
Another AF day for me, definitely the last until next week (probably next Tuesday but I'm not promising:o). Well done to everyone on the wagon tonight. Difficult to make out who you all were in the freezing fog but better than alcoholic haze:).
11AF for December, please Shaggy0 -
thanks for the welcome guys...
went to a christmas panto with the family tonight had a lovely evening. In the interval I sat and relaxed.... Normally I would have been rushing everyone out to get an ice cream or similar so I could knock back a quick beer....
Home now and it's 11.35, again I would normally be having what I felt was a well deserved beer..... sitting here wiht an orange juice and just polished off a mince pie... it was nice...
3 AF days in a row.... I feel very pleased... i haven't went 3 days free since last jan... so my plan is to have a couple tomorrow and maybe sunday but then rack up more AF days...
In terms of targets I am going to aim for 7 AF days between 20th Dec to New years eve... That would be quite a difference for me....
Sometimes I wonder if now having hit hte 3 days i should just go the abstinance route... but I think if I did I would hancker after the booze and think I could have had the one/two... this way I think I will know whether I can control the drinking or not as long as I keep posting and be accountable to my posts.....
I hope everyone is having a peaceful evening whether that is alcohol free or not.0
