4th AF day for me today.
I'm going to see what I can scare up from the kitchen to make some lunch. There's not much down there I don't think.:eek:HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

Hello all!
Well I did have quite a few drinkies at the Xmas party last night, but didn't have too bad a hangover this morning, all things considered.
Today is definitely AF, as I don't feel like a drink (unbelieveable!) and anyway there's no booze in the house and I am not going out again in the snow. But I can't confirm today as AF until tomorrow, although I am very confident it will be.
Watched the new Narnia film at the cinema today and really enjoyed it. Pure escapism and a much much better way to spend £5.25 than using it for booze.
Hugs

11 AF DAYS FOR ME PLEASE SHAGGY, HI EVERYONE, I`m really looking forward to Christmas now as I`ve decided not to drink and I`m looking forward to a sober Christmas. I`m halfway through the book LIVING SOBER and its amazing it could have been written for me. its written by members of the AA and gives a real insight into how to live sober. I`m sorely tempted to go along to a local AA meeting as I really want to stay off the booze permananetly as I have in the past but have always started boozing again, but I`m scared to go along any tips anybody ??0

:T on your decision.
No direct experience of AA myself but there are lots of folks on here who will be able to give advice. One thing that has emerged in what I've read is that it's worth trying lots of different groups until you find one with a tone/mix of people that suits you.0 -

I know alot of folk swear by it - and I've also heard that sometimes folk prefer to go to a meeting in a different town/area to them - takes them feel a bit more confident about going as its not on their own doorstep
Not that theres anything shameful - but often its easier to be open with strangers isn't it?
I can't remember when I last had a drink - (earlier in the week I think) but not the precise day - which is a nice feeling. NOt to be so obsessive about it all.
All good progress - well done everyone!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Just thought I would put today down as AF now, because I am going straight to bed as soon as I've logged off, so 1 more AFD for me please!
Feeling very chuffed with myself.
I've eaten tons today, but that's better than boozing in my book! I need to get my drinking under control and once I've managed that (and hopefully I will) I will then think about dieting. It's just too much to try doing both at once and getting my drinking under control is my priority above all else.
Hugs and night night!

Totaly agree cazz. I started Slimming World a few weeks back and alcohol is limited in the eating plan. There's no way I could have done that without cutting down on here first.0 -

I think everyone is scared before their first meeting. I still sometimes get scared, and I have been to hundreds of meetings.....
I rang the helpline before my first meeting, and met someone first. Then I was certain I wouldn't have to walk in there alone.
The rooms are full of understanding people who know about alcoholism. Going to my first meeting was the best decision that I have taken in my life. Good luck with whatever you decide.0 -
14 for me, please, Shaggy, thanks! Hope you enjoyed your weekend away!
Having to be extremely strict with myself at the moment - it would be all too easy to succumb!
