I had an AF Sunday. Major finance problems but I still managed not to drink. Too much tea though as I couldn't get to sleep. We have some very old de-caf tea bags somewhere.

  • Hello all!

No more AFDs yet, unfortunately and am having a vodka now, so today is also compromised!

HealthyLifestyle - have you been back for your blood results? You really should. I've had a couple of blood tests recently and they have been all normal, and it appears I drink more than you on a regular basis, so please go and get them, they might not be anywhere near as bad as you think.

And yeah - I am still drinking rather a lot and still doing it often. Hmmmmm. Not got much to say about it today (which is unusual). I know what needs doing and I am not doing it.

    Nuff said.

Hugs to all and have a great evening.

I'm feeling very good about joining this thread.

I've had loads of cups of tea, and hot chocolate today, and don't feel like drinking alcohol, but then its normal for me to not have any for a few days, but then binge.

I'm not sure if its the same for others.

I want to see if I can have 4 af days, and then be moderate. The problem for me will be suddenly not necking a bottle of wine (or 2) on a Friday night, and then continuing throughout the weekend.

It would be nice to be moderate for once.

You might find (I do) that if you train yourself to have several alcohol free days during the week, eventually you won't be able to cope with too much at the weekends.

    Hi Everyone,

Pen - could I join the two night challenge (tonight and tomorrow) please? Two nights in a row will be a challenge, but I've got to prove I can do it.:p

Healthylifestyle - I'm a worrier too (hypochondirac?) and always have to have something to worry about. With my health scare, almost as soon as I got the doc's view, a lot of the pain went away - I'm sure it was the worry that was causing a lot of the pain. So, if you can get the results, you might find you feel physically a lot better.:)

Cazza - you can always try again tomorrow. That's the way I'm starting to look at it when I slip up, and its easier when you don't beat yourself up over the day before. Good luck.

Right - off to "enjoy" a night on the camomile, but looking forward to the good feeling in the morning.:j

    Have a good evening all.
Smoke-free since Jan 2012 :j Now its just the drink, and the weight, and life in general :p

Snap! I'm a typical binge drinker (sounds horrible when you say it!). Doesn't bother me all week but Sat-Sun is a free for all (or used to be). I'm trying to retrain myself...and so far its working. This thread helps. The challenges help. Stay with it!

Evening all everyone, hope we are all ok.

HS, you are in the right place even if you don't do what you want or should do every day, just being here means ultimately you want to change. Same for you Cazzamazza, i totally understand where your coming from in the "I know what needs to be done but not doing it" sense. I've been here 2 weeks on thurs and my first week went quite well (had 4 AF days), the second half not so good i've not even racked up a AF day for my december challenge yet.

But i've found coming here helpful to be inspired again even if i don't quite manage it and still drinking, i've noticed my drinking is later in the day and not quite as many drinks as 3 weeks ago.

Please count me in for the two day challenge i'm hopefully going to be AF tonight, going well so far and tomorrow as i might take the kids swimming early evening which means driving.

I do really fancy a baileys right now though. I think its worse cos i'm telling myself i won't be drinking tomorrow night so i've got to wait till Wednesday for my craving. That doesn't sound good does it. I should be able to go two days in a row without it being a big deal.

A bottle of wine split over 2 days of the weekend. Feeling tempted to go out and have few drinks on the work do on Friday, swayed from my original 'I'm driving standpoint'. Let's see if I can regain my strength
