Has anyone else received an invoice from Biscit? I received one today billing me for Fast & Unlimited Monthly (Dial-Up) £9.99 for the period 21/01/2007 to 21/03/2007! I am one of the ex-Fast4, ex-V21 customers!
Looks like the so-called free period is over!

Hi Muffinhead - I also got an invoice along with an e-mail providing a new username and password; I nearly deleted it as it looked so much like spam - well in fact it is spam! Logged in to find apparantly I have a contract with them starting 1/1/2007 - very interesting considering I cancelled both by telephone and using the old portal in December. Fortunately there are no payment details on the account so it looks like a letter to their head office is in order...0

Sorry to butt in folks, but as you know I have gone with newnet broadband, but when I was having problems with biscit a long time ago,(I too started with Fast 4) well it seems a long time ago now! with payments, I phoned offcom and they told me if I did not get a refund to tell them, anyway, in the end my bank sorted it, so I suggest you ALL telephone offcom, maybe you will get further that way. The contract seems really bad to me if they did not warn you of it first. Best wishes and all the best, oap0

I was with Freetalk at £4.99 a month from last July until it was taken over by biscit. During November and December extra unauthorised payments were taken from my credit card. I have phoned them, e mailed, and written recorded delivery but have had no reply to anything. At the end of January my credit card expired and I've been issued with another, different card number so they wont be able to collect any payments. Again I've tried to contact them but with no reply so wether I'll get disconnected or not remains to be seen. I must admit though that the connection since Christmas / New Year has been spot on. How a company like this is totally uncontactable is unbelievable.0

Hi o_t_e,
Do you mean you logged in to your Biscit account? If so, could you please confirm where you did that?
I can log into my (Biscit) email account, which I never use, but the main account can still not be accessed. Perhaps I'm looking at the wrong site!0 -
Hi exprog - I'm an old fast4 customer so I guess that means that I was a Biscit customer although the invoice states
"Your cost of Services with V21"
the invoice I received had a login address here:
http://portal.ispserve.co.uk?a_code=v21
I can't remember if this differs from the old address - I have a screenprint from when I cancelled but it's not on the pc I'm using just now. The old portal address stopped accepting my old login after I sent the cancellation...
I then used the login details sent on the other e-mail I received which were the same old password and my old username prefaced with "expired_"
Hope this helps.0 -
Well, I've gone and done it!
Signed up to Virgin Bundle 3 package a couple of weeks ago and now have their free USB modem, 2x filters, activation etc for £9.99 a month (12 month contract). Next week should see me get the free evening and weekend calls and, as a bonus, they even give you a £20 voucher for their wine site (not much good unless you order 12 bottles - minimum order £56ish). Not a lot of difference on what I was paying before, especially as 1899's rates are steadily creeping up.
Got to say that it has gone smoothly and I'm impressed with the service. Help is in the shape of email/online/0870. Connections are very good and what a difference in speed! I've got the 3Gb cap and 1Mb speed (did a test and my actual speed is virtually 20x what I was getting on dial-up!). Huge plus is that I can at last receive and make calls whilst surfing the net! :j
I hear that the V21/Biscit service is pretty good now but I want you to all know that it's because I've now lowered your contention ratio considerably!
Big question now is, how easy will it be to cancel my dial-up?I'm NOT political so DON'T correct me!0 -
Congratulations, well done, whilst I am on here, I had a look at Virgin but it put me off as there did not seem to be anyone you could talk to,somewhee on mse it said 25p a minute, was it easy to set up? Also, what put me off was the cost of calls during the day, did you go into that one, I think you can still use 1899, but that is 5p connection charge now, good though if you stay on for a chat!! Regards oap0

That link from o_t_e actually works! I put in my original username and password given by Freetalk and it says I have been invoiced for services from 20/01/07 to 20/03/07 (which I haven't). I also have been given a different acount number from the original. Very confusing.0

Yes, that's the same as me. I think 'V21' is Biscitspeak for (former) Fast4 customers.o_t_e wrote:
That's the one I have occasionally tried but it is still not working for me! Perhaps they are still working through the customer list.
Thanks for the information. :beer:0
