Just time for a quick "Hello" and then I need to wrap presents for DDs birthdays and make lasagne.
Bought a chocolate cake as a birthday cake and will light candles on it later.
Congratulations to Michelle and Happy Birthday to ivyleaf:bdaycake:"This site is addictive!"

Afternoon all
I've 'sneaked' home - ostensibly to varnish hall before the hordes come in. But as you lot can see I'm not doing it yet( :shhh: please don't tell)
BM on and WM unloaded though.
I've found this site not only great for tips and tricks but I had a good old vent on another thread yesterday - and you know what, it doesn't matter so much now. Queenie thanks for taking the time to respond to me.
Michelle - congrats!! I'm so broody at the mo. Girl had work had new baby in for a visit yesterday, another one's gone on maternity leave. No no no. Well maybe if I do a lot of osing and penny saving......What time's DH home tonight?:rotfl:
Short to do list to keep me on track this pm.
[strike]Put BM on[/strike] (already done so I feel good already)
[strike]Empty WM[/strike]
Strip beds and wash bedding (decided to snuggle up in the bed with Adriana Trigiani for 20 mins before everyone came home):o
[strike]varnish hall[/strike]
[STRIKE]tidy living room[/STRIKE]
Take care everyone.

Afternoon Guys!
I havent done much today in the way of OS Im afraid:o ...not feeling to good again. I did manage to do another washload but Im afraid I used the TD as hubby has been so busy today and didnt want to ask him to hang it on the airer and didnt have energy to lift it up-so just stuck it in the TD...well most of it...sorry:eek:
OH on the other hand.....:rotfl: has finished decorating the toilet:j and has done some clearing of his outside office. It looks like he has binned alot, which is great:D He has peeled the veg for dinner and roasties are already in the oven as Im starving;) and will take an hour to roast up.
DD breaks up today for half-term and cant believe she has already done so long at her new school. Next week (weather and health permitting) we have planned a visit to the Zoo, trip to my sisters (stay overnight), bowling (tesco vouchers), cinema (vouchers) and half a day/picnic to the beach. Everything is basically paid for as we have vouchers for most and will just be the cost of petrol. At my sisters we need to take a visit to their local warehouse and buy some storage stuff for dd and buy a lamp for her.
In the post this morning we receioved £8 in vouchers and a free washing powder sample. Also our cashbach cheque from the new car, so am very pleased and this is paying off our CC. Also bought the new Daz washing powder boxes yesterday and got a £1 and a £4 voucher off my next Waitrose shop.
Anyway got to go as DD & OH have just got back.

Howdy folks,
Funny ol' day, not a lot of OS really happening.
DD not well during the night, so no playgroup for her this morning as she overslept  . She was full of beans when she did get up, so off she went to nursery this arvo.
Most important news is that I found a dolls' hospital which is going to re-string my dollI've had him since I was 3, DD picked him up and his leg fell off  . The lady at the hospital told me it was an emergency as if 1 leg had fallen off, the other could too.
So, I'm now hunting for his PJ's, after all he can't go in to hospital w/o them, now can he! Problem is, I've put them "somewhere safe". He's also "nil by mouth" at the mo.
Tonight for dinner we're having brisket of beef done in the SC, first time I've done this, so fingers crossed.
B - Cereal
L - Ham, cheese rolls
D - SC Beef with roasties (potatoes, parsnips), carrots and sprouts. Treacle tart and custard for pud.GC - March 2024 -0 -
Evening all!
A reasonably productive day given the late start, changed utility providers with the £15 cashback one (cool!) which should save me £100 a year, Ive made raspberry and apple jam (its lush, runny and sweet - just as i wanted it!), dinner is almost prepared (pork chops, mash, green beans and garlic mushrooms, odd combo I know!), I cleaned a bit more of the loft and made a bit more space, hoovered and dusted the flat, and cleaned both kitchen and bathroom.
Still got freecyclers visiting to collect the goodies, some havent turned up though which I wasnt expecting, I think ill put them out on the street soon and post another message saying help yourself soon! I want them gone!
I keep looking at the ironing and then look away, I still have a tesco value iron that is now black on the base and a very rickety ironing board and the prospect is too depressing. I came on here and am simultaneously slavering over posh irons and ironing boards on ebay. I think I might treat myself..... At least im not wasting money on clothes and handbags!
Anyhoo - am off, ive decided that given the rain, some extra special mash potato is in order, some fresh parsley butter in it I reckon.

Evening All
Happy Birthday to Ivyleaf
Had a nice day at the hairdressers today and really pleased with the cut and colour. Also managed to have a look in the BHS Xmas shop and bought a couple of stocking fillers for the kids.
House is lovely clean and tidy just a little ironing to be done but think that can be left till Sat when I do major washing.
Horseriding tomm which I am really looking forward to then will take DD out for lunch as she has a non pupil day and DS is still at school. Dont get much time alone with her so that will be nice.
Had DS teacher meeting, he is doing ok and is very happy which is the main thing as he is a boy who really doesnt like school.
Best be off now as think will try and have an early night.0 -
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday October 20th 2006. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good Morning all! hope its ok to start the thread so early ! Am up with a pain in my shoulder/back as I cant get comfy in bed and am waiting for a painkiller to take effect!
Have still got a horrible cold and am all stuffed up:(
Had a good day out at the races yesterday - 2 winners and 2 seconds:D and came home with almost what I went with so a very cheap, fun day out.
DH is taking his van for its MOT today so we're crossing our fingers its not going to be an expensive day. He came home yesterday and told me he's handed his notice in at work - cant cope anymore as its too strenuous a job and he has permanent back pain. He's got 2 possibilities of jobs in places he's worked before so hopefully wont be out of work at all!
Hugs to all those who need/want them and hope you all have a good day;)
Hopefull I'll get some sleep soon!
Take care xxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Good morning taplady and everyone else to follow.
I'm sorry to hear that you're in pain, I hope you'll feel better and get to sleep once the painkiller starts to work. Good luck with the MOT and hopefully one of the jobs will work out for your DH.
I had a mad day yesterday.....Homestart in the morning, meeting with my manager at lunchtime, the usual chaos with my lot in the afternoon and out to work in the evening.
With luck, today will be a better day....
Mr Pink has been [STRIKE]told in no uncertain terms [/STRIKE]gently persuaded that he is doing the school run today, so that I can have a lie in.
My only OS plans are to clean the windows....make the rosehip and apple jelly from the juices I've been straining......and make lots of steak and kidney pie filling to use up the reduced price steak I got in tesco today. There should be enough filling for at least four pies.
Nothing exciting going on here I'm afraid.
I hope you all have a lovely Friday! It's almost the weekend! :j :j :j
Pink
PS
Belated Birthday wishes to dorry and ivyleaf......I'm sorry I missed your birthdays
Congratulations to Michelle and dh on the birth of your baby boy!0 -
Congrats, Michelle and DH, and welcome to the world, little one!
Hope everyone's day goes well...
I have a mad day ahead, not necessarily too o/s, but anyway...
Getting my windscreen replaced - a stone hit it and it looks like I've been shot at  in the morning.
I have to get myself and DD ready for the weekend... staying at OH's parents.
Have to buy wall paper and stuff for my new flat and start stripping the old stuff -I want to get it in order before I move in my DD!
And the general tidying (both here and new flat!) and laundry.. Did my bedroom window today - stardrops and a microfibre cloth!
