Morning!
I'm up bright and early today, can't sleep having nightmares, could it be the penicillin? anyway thought I would pop on here to take my mind off things.
Yesterday I managed to use up 4 pears from the veg box by cooking them up in the slow cooker, I didn't have 1/2 pint of red wine to spare but found some leftover mulled wine and used that, so didn't need to add anything elseIt worked really well and they were lovely with a bit of cream. Going to make baked apples with mincemeat in the sc tonight.
Managed to get 2 tins of quality street for £9 in Sainsburys so have tucked them away for Christmas but might keep one tin available by the door in case we get any callers on halloween! Also picked up 2 packets of pitta bread for 10p so will have to have another go at some hummous.
We had some blinds fitted in the conservatory yesterday and they look lovely, really finish it off even though we went for the cheapest they had! Going even cheaper with the bathroom, half price cut to fit diy specials in the B & Q sale.
Well going to read up on the Christmas ideas now as sadly have started to feel a bit Christmassy! :xmastree:
Hope everyone is ok ((((hugs))))

((((((Hugs)))))Mrs Mix so sorry you are in so much pain. A couple of friends of mine have RA and also have a great deal of pain, rotten illness!
Good luck today! I left my job at a school last year and still miss the kids but health wise if I had stayed I would be a lot worse off. Ol Style has been a bit of a life saver to be honest, kept me occupied and made me feel I was achieving something. Stay with us and you will always have someone to talk to and some new challenge to keep your mind occupied.
Take care

Morning everyone!
I've had quite a good sleep...so actually feel quite refreshed this morning. It's a long time since I've felt like that, believe me!
I had another nosey around the shops last night - I think I am a hopeless case when it comes to carpet. Our branch of CarpetRite was burnt to the ground in August (along with T.K.Maxx grrrr!!) but the smaller independents don't seem to have the same variety available. I would go for laminate as suggested by Mirakl yesterday....I have it on the ground floor of my house, and find it a bit cold underfoot. I'd prefer something a bit softer for my bare tootsies. The sea grass option is attractive, but I bet that's not cheap.
Mrs Mix...hope your last day goes well.
Pink...by the time you read this I hope you'll have a fantastically long lie in.
Taplady...fingers crossed for the MoT...and good luck to Mr Taplady that his next job will be along soon and be a lot more suitable for him.
Catznine - oh dear, bad dreams. Don't know what to suggest, but I hope they go away pdq.
Happy Friday everyone.

Morning OSers:hello:
Hope everyone is well (and those with aches and pains feel better soon :kisses3: )
Had a bit of a shock yesterday. School called to say DD9 had collapsed  Drove to school like a loon to find her sitting in the staff room sipping squash and troffing biccies. She'd fainted after twisiting her ankle playing in the playground.I think her dignity was more damaged than anything else. Anyway, had her checked over by the GP later yesterday afternoon. He said it's perfectly normal to faint if you've had a sharpe pain. Blimey, who knew......
OS plans for today are deep cleaning the bathroom (always a favourite) and batch baking for next week. While my Dad was visiting yesterday he asked about the best thing to clean his stainless steel sinks, hob and windows. I gave a bottle from my store of Stardrops, a new microfibre cloth and told him all he needed was loads of elbow grease
Have a good day everyone (((((hugs)))))

Good morning
I am being lazy and have brought the laptop through to bed. I was wide awake and just don't like getting up when it's still dark.
Yesterday was fairly productive in that I ordered some baskets from e-bay to try and make some Crimbo hampers and I have finally joined the STARDROPS club :j :j :j
Managed to track some down in Asda after looking for ages. Then just like buses found them in Semi-Chem as well.
Todays plans are to go wild with the stardrops and see what all the fuss is about
Need to do a freezer stock check as well and see what meals can be made with what I have.
Have a great day and start to the weekend0 -
