Morning all.
Congrats to Michelle, hubby and hope youve a happy healthy baby.
Sorry to hear about your chicken penelope penguin
Snowy Owl is laminate flooring out of the question? Carpets all seem to be equally boring no matter where you look.
In for a frustrating day, want to get things done but everyone in work appears to be operating at half speed.
Poor Dog took a massive chunk out of his paw running through the forest the other day and his energy levels are sky high atm because we can't walk him until it heals up a bit. May stay late at work instead of facing a whinging spaniel OH can take care of thatMy Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

Morning everyone!
I'm just grabbing a sneaky cup of coffee before I journey to the depths of clutter - yes it's time for DSs bedroom. (How can someone who is 4 have soooo much stuff??)
I've got the wm on (yet more stuff covered in wee - maybe day 3 will be better) and DD1 is ready to help with the vinegar spray and stardrops.
I guess I'd better crack on - wish me luck!0 -

Is it me or is this site misbehaving this morning!??
Been a bit squiffy my end as well, so no, not just you.
Mind you, put my time to good use - knew the date was drawing near when I could change my Broadband payments so made the relevant phone calls and she has activated it from *now* :j (means yet another refund) Also, didn't realise that part of the package will give me free evening and w/end calls too :j Interestingly, BT called me last week to offer me a "great deal!" Unfortuately, the sales person wasn't quite as quick as me on his mental arithmatic (I was unusually on the ball that time) and I pointed out, his "great deal" would cost me a "great deal" more than I already spend so was of no value whatsoever. Poor guy, after his initial
he realised the truth of what I said and had the good grace to sound a tad
. I did wonder how sincere his others 'sales pitch' calls would be for the rest of the day after that
Popped a washload outside, it's still damp out there and not much sun, but enough of a breeze to do some good.
blessing3 - I know your suggestion was for a 'couple' but it's also a lovely bonding thing to do with children. Mine loved a 5 minute massage after their bathsThe power of touch is a wonderful thing and should be extended beyond just couples
Could work out quite nice for single parents too because the children can enjoy giving their parent a back rub
Nix - you do sound lovely and organised for your party - make that 23 guests coming ... I'll be official taster for the lasagne

Just had another rain storm, looks like it might clear up, hope so I have towels that need to go out.
Sundays chicken carcass is about to go into the pressure cooker to make stock for leek and lentil soup for tomorrows lunch...... have to nip down to the tyre place so we can get a wheel changed and a new tyre on the spare.
House is nice and clean thanks to yesterdays burst of energy.... spent all last night cuddled up on the sofa with fleece blanket, still not got the heat on....... hope to get through the rest of this month witout it kicking in.

Morning all!
Windy and rainy here too.I like to wash the dog's cushions and put them outside to freshen up on a Thursday but can't this morning. Made a cinnamon and date loaf yesterday and had some for breakfast. Its yum!
Just going to make a coffee while I wait for my Sainsbury's shopping to arrive. Kitchen all cleaned and so is the fridge ready for the delivery. I always hope it will be late though because they give you a £10 voucher to use for your next shop! Sometimes they are just a minute late and I can tell they are keeping quiet hoping I haven't noticed but I always do and ask for my voucher!
Oh, theres the doorbell! No voucher for me today!!!
Im making HM Shepherds pie for tea and HM stuffing to put in freezer to go with the pork for Sunday lunch!0 -
Good morning everyone
Congratulations Michelle - what lovely news xx
Its a wet, windy Autumn day here and am at w**k all day. Need to nip out later and buy a few cards and bits and pieces but will be spending the rest of the day inside.
Am running a bit of a store cupboard challenge at the moment as I spent far too much on food last month. Doing quite well at the moment I think I've probably got at least another week and a halfs meals left in the house. Will have to get some milk, bread and veg but thats about it.
Lunch: Leftover pasta bake for me, ham & rocket wraps for OH
Dinner: Cheese & potato pie & beans
Have a great day everyone xxIts nice to be important but more important to be nice!0 -
Congrats Michelle, enjoy every single second of it.
Morning all
Just been for a blood test, got the bruise to prove it! Popped into town and got soaked and then had to wait ages for the bus grrrrrrr.
Having an early lunch - I'm starving and then need to crack on with hoovering and ironing.
Queenie - glad last night was a success, it's funny how you build up a mental image of teachers and they're never quite as bad as you think.
Will try and have an hours crochet this afternoon with a DVD, it's not the same sitting on the bed to do it as sitting on a comfy sofa but I think we're still about a month off having a useable living room

IVYLEAF: Happy Birthday!! :bdaycake:
CONGRATULATIONS MICHELLE AND MR MICHELLE!! :male: :kisses:
Im sorry to hear that a hen died Pen-Pen, :grouphug:
Its rather sunny here after what appears to be a rather wet night, im fairly miserable today because I have to go to work tomorrow. They havent paid me right either - about £100 is missing so ill have to check my pay slip tomorrow and create havoc to get it sorted this month.
This morning i have so far dried a load of laundry, checked the utility bills - all in credit - woohoo! So im off to search for cheaper providers given that I can now afford to pay the last bills when they come in!. Ive also switched all my standing orders etc to my new 'bills account' and am trying to get a 'food budget' account organised so that what is in my account goes to paying my personal bills. Im also going to find some cheaper contents insurance today - I want a reliable company that would pay out in the awful event, but not charge excessively.
Im off to the local shops shortly to find some apples for my raspberry and apple jam - I am right in thinking its equal weight sugar to fruit?? Anyway, got the homebrew started last night, it looks fairly disgusting but im not the one drinking it am I!! Other plans for today include cleaning the house, nipping out to buy a few bits and pieces and I PROMISE I WILL SORT OUT THE FISH TANK. His water looks more like ale than lager - in fact, thats the first job of the day. Bloody bogwood. Anyway - If i get time im going to get the sewing machine out and start making the sofa covers.
Right - off for a cup of tea and email an ebay seller who hasnt sent me my stuff yet (grrr) and then crack on with the day!
Hope you all have a good un!

Morning All!!!!
Big congratulations to Michelle, hubby and their little bundle of joy!!!!
Brings back lovely memories hearing of new babies coming into the world.:D
PP - Sorry about your chook.
SnowyOwl - What about seagrass style flooring? It's what we've decided on although I think seagrass is a bit rough, there are other options though.
Had a bad night, DD was coughing a lot so took her to the docs this morning, theres no infection which is pretty much as I suspected but as she's had it 4 weeks now and it's getting worse, he gave her antibiotics. She didn't want to go to school, apparently she sobbed inconsolably yesterday all lunchtime because she missed her mummy. Such a shame as she started school so well. I gave her a teddy from my Christmas box and gave it lots of kisses, the idea being she can take him in to school and when she feels she is missing me she can have a kiss from mummy via her teddy. Hope it works.
Did a shepherds pie last night which I padded out with soya mince, family didn't notice but I don't think I'll do it again as I found it very salty and MSG flavoured, we rarely eat processed foods these days and I found it quite difficult to digest too.
Tonight, lovely beef bourgignon with braised red cabbage, broccoli and probably jacket potatoes. Rather a lot of red meat this week unfortunately, wasn't thinking when I meal planned , will compensate with veggie for the rest of the week I think.
House spick and span, Metallica were on More4 last night so DH was glued to that. Figured I may as well get ahead of myself and have an early night rather than watch it.
Have a lovely OS day all.
